John Walsh is a double BAFTA-nominated filmmaker, best-selling author and founder of Walsh Bros Ltd, one of the UK’s top 100 production companies. His ground-breaking work is seen on television and in cinemas.
John met Ray Harryhausen as a film student to make a documentary about his life and work. John is now a Trustee of the Harryhausen Foundation.
John’s first book was the award-nominated Harryhausen: The Lost Movies. 2020 saw the release of his second book, the acclaimed FLASH GORDON: The Official Story of the Film. His next book, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK: The Official Story of the Film, was published in 2021. His latest book Dr Who & The Daleks: The Official Story of the Film, is out in September 2022. He is a four-times Rondo Award nominee for Book of the Year.

John, one finally question. We know Harryhausen's creatures are the fan favorite but any future plans to release limited edition of 1/6 scale of the original movie human main characters (Perseus, Sinbad, Jason Argonauts) as these characters are not available for purchase?

Once again a successful implementation of the classic Harryhausen design. The starting flight pose is really well done and using the rainbow LED to bring out the base is a good improvement. A figure that everyone would like to have and of course me too.
What a wonderful display. The grace of Pegasus and Bubo. An excellent addition to the Ray Harryhausen collection and would make a lovely Christmas present.
The film has always had a special place in my heart along with Jason and teh Argonauts. I saw that there are poseable Hydra, Kali and otther models close to what the original Harryhausen models would be like. Will they be covered on teh channel when they come out?
At first I was thinking "its just going to be a simple winged horse", but the pose is amazing along with Bubo and the base exceeds all expectations! Definitely going to be a highly desired collectable.
Having collected every Star Ace piece up till this one, I sadly have to pass on this one for now. It's an amazing piece nonetheless! Pretty exciting Harryhausen items on the horizon from Star Ace that are a dream come true!
I do love these Star Ace statues. Forgive the side note John but is the "Creatures, Martians and Myths" exhibition similar to the one I missed in Scotland? will there be screen used models there? or is it more of a Concept art exhibition? both are cool, I just really want to see original models with my own eyes. Thanks. Yes, the Waterside Arts exhibition will have screen-used models on a smaller scale than the NGS. This is based on my book Harryhausen: The Lost Movies.
john, sorry to trouble you but do you know if star ace are now sending the centaur model kits out yet. ive been emailing them about this but have had no replies and they told me they were shipping out in october
there is still no news john on the minaton model kit ive seen advertised on monsters in motion or the star ace websight or on thier sight on here so is it a mistake. please let me know as i really want to order one

Just watched you on the Conan the Barbarian channel and looked you up on Amazon then found you on RU-vid. It’s been quite a journey tonight! Was happy to see this book was your newest.
