Il a fait le Liban, la Syrie, la campagne d'Afrique, le débarquement de Provence, avec de Lattres de Tassigny, et le général de Montsabert, sous commandement américain, en Août 1944. Il a participé à la libération de Marseille et Toulon jusqu'à Stuttgart en passant par Colmar. Après la guerre il s'est installé en France pour travailler pendant les trente glorieuses jusqu'à sa retraite. La question que je me pose : mon grand-père est quoi ?? Immigré ? ancien combattant de l'armée française ? soldat-immigré ? Je n'arrive pas à lui trouver un statut honorable, sachant qu'à l'époque trois départements étaient français en Algérie.
