May have to move to Canada from the usa as I've been caring for a father for 5 years and badically has destroyed my life. Tho gl getting g to Canada with nothing sigh
I’ve seen Estate sales online and realized that when we go, our loved ones are left with the chore of dealing with what we leave behind. Do I want them to deal with fond memories or garbage that I was treasuring for no reason or because I was too lazy to get rid of? Also, will the material stuff I paid money for, matter to someone else? I like your philosophy and I think we take experiences not materials stuff.
I just put a deposit on a city house in a walkable city outside the USA- I can’t believe how many people were confused that we had no need for a car. We will rent & use public transportation as needed.
Facing similar thoughts about eventually needing to downsize (doing it in a hurry would be painful, but I have a lot of sourvenirs from travelling places. Books and (some unwanted) gifts I can get rid of (easy), souvenirs and examples of achievements are much harder for me. But I think this is some really good thinking. I lived abroad for 9 years, and having rented out my house, used my garage for storage, but am now re-thinking all that I have. Thanks for sharing: all the best with your move.
It is so challenging. I do think taking photos of things can help you keep the memory without taking up the space. You can even have professional style photography done.
lol are you kidding me? There are much better countries than the US where they get basic human rights and needs met (healthcare, affordable housing and free education) and their life satisfaction is way higher than in the States (Finland for one example)
Lady, why don't YOU iust MOVE to the most car less region of the earth then ? I disagree with your newly found religion. Footnote: If some people in politics had it THEIR way, we'd all be on public transportation crowded on subways, trains and buses... Imagine your GROCERY store visit, coming home with the bags on public transportation. ‼️🤷🏽♂️‼️
not everyone lives in a urbanized area's. for example i live southwest michigan no major city's. things are more spread out. its 20 miles to work. do you really think a 50 year old woman should walk to work in january in michigan. also just becuase your fat doesn't mean everyone is.
