I have a question. If you have other shape blanks. How can you make an image template of that blank so it will to that shap
@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker 11 часов назад
To make an image template of a shape blank so it conforms to that shape, here are the steps you can follow: Select and Erase Background: Ensure you have your "select and erase" icon selected. Click on the background of your image to remove it, making the background transparent. This will allow the image to conform to the shape you want. Use Contour Tool: Select the duplicated layer and click "contour" to control the individual cuts in a layer. In the pop-up window, click the "hide all contours" button. This will hide all contours except for the shape you want to use. Create a Guide Shape: With the shape selected, click the dropdown menu under "operation" and choose "guide" to turn it into a guide shape that you can see through. Arrange and Resize Photo: Click the eye icon to unhide your photo, then click "arrange" and "send to back" to move it behind everything else. Drag your photo so it fits within the guide shape. Resize the photo by dragging a corner handle in or out until it fully fits and fills the shape with no canvas showing on any side. Drag a bounding box over the photo and the guide shape to select both, then click "slice" in the layers panel. Delete the guide shape and the slice result containing the portion of the photo outside the shape.

If it is used, will it still allow me to set it up with my email?
@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker 11 часов назад
Yes, Cricut Design Space will allow you to set up an Explore Air 2 with your email. The setup process involves downloading the Cricut Design Space app, creating a Cricut ID if you don't already have one, and then connecting your machine via Bluetooth. You will need to enter your email address during the setup process to create or sign in to your Cricut account. You do need to make sure that the previous owner has removed the machine from their account in order for you to sign it into your account.

I just want a smaller printer to print normal documents but I do have to scan and fax. What would you recommend?
@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker 11 часов назад
I would recommend looking into compact all-in-one inkjet printers. Some popular models that fit these criteria include: HP OfficeJet 3830: This is a compact all-in-one printer that offers printing, scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities. It's known for its ease of use and wireless connectivity. Canon PIXMA TR4520: Another great option, this printer is compact and offers all the functionalities you need, including printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. It also supports wireless printing. Brother MFC-J497DW: This is a reliable and compact all-in-one inkjet printer that provides printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. It also features wireless connectivity and mobile printing options.

If the cutting board was glass or something transparent- I imagine you could sublimate to the back maybe. Then you could use the other side for cutting- you'd have to print it unmirrored so the text would be correct on the front. Also I'm not sure if it would look good because you'd usually be looking at the wrong side. Might be an interesting experiment though.

Hi Jennifer! I have a large vinyl stencil, wooden sign that was gifted to me last Christmas. The sign is similar to your Welcome sign on the video above. The sign is placed outside my front door and unfortunately the letters are starting to peel off - I love the sign and don’t want to throw it away, can you recommend what type of glue I can use to seal it back in place? Any recommendations or instructions would be greatly appreciated!
@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker 11 часов назад
It sounds like you have a lovely sign that you want to preserve. Based on the context provided, I recommend using a hot glue gun with glue sticks to seal the letters back in place. Make sure to use finger protectors to prevent accidental burns. Additionally, you might want to clean the surface with rubbing alcohol to remove any dust or dirt before reapplying the letters. This will help ensure a better bond.

Jennifer, hi i need to know what to download on Google docs for free for designing and printing...
@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker День назад
Go to Google Docs in the Google Chrome web browser on your computer. If you don't have a Google account, you can get one for free at JenniferMaker.com/googledocs. Create a New Document: In the top left corner of the screen, click on "Blank" to open a new document. Page Setup: Go to the "File" menu and select "Page setup." Change the orientation to "Landscape" to better fit your design's proportions. Change all the margins to zero by clicking in each box and typing zero. Make sure the paper size matches your sublimation paper size. For example, use 8.5 inch by 11 inch paper (letter size). Insert Your Design: Click on the "Insert" menu at the top and select "Image." Choose "Upload from computer" and locate your design file (e.g., a PNG file). Click "Open" to add the design to the page. This should get you started.

I loaded the cricut onto my IPad, but when I try to go to images, it tells me there was a problem, and check my internet connection. Try again. My internet connection is fine, and I don’t know how to correct this issue. I have paid for access, and I can’t do anything if I can select images, fonts, phrases. What can I do? Thank you.
@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker День назад
It sounds like you're experiencing some connectivity issues with the Cricut Design Space app on your iPad. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue: Close the Cricut Design Space app completely and then reopen it. Sometimes, simply restarting the app can resolve connectivity issues. Ensure that both your iPad's operating system and the Cricut Design Space app are up to date. Go to the App Store, search for Cricut Design Space, and see if there are any updates available. Uninstall the Cricut Design Space app from your iPad and then reinstall it from the App Store. This can sometimes resolve issues related to corrupted files or settings. Make sure the app has the necessary permissions to access the internet. Go to your iPad's settings, find the Cricut Design Space app, and ensure that it has permission to use Wi-Fi and cellular data. If none of the above steps work, you may need to contact Cricut Support for further assistance. They can provide more specific troubleshooting steps and help resolve any account-related issues.

@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker День назад
The glow-in-the-dark HTV hasn't held up as well over time. This could be contributing to the blurriness you're seeing. You might want to try a different type of HTV, such as holographic or white glitter HTV, which have shown better durability. Here is an updated tutorial. jennifermaker.com/sublimate-dark-shirts/

Do you not need to use parchment paper to heat press it?
@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker День назад
Yes, you do need to use a protective layer when heat pressing HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) on a t-shirt. Clean butcher paper is used as a protective layer. This helps to prevent any debris from interfering with the transfer and protects the heat press and the design. Parchment paper can also be used for this purpose if you don't have butcher paper. Just make sure to cover the entire design area with the protective layer before pressing. If you do forget to put the butcher paper in (like in this video) the carrier sheet is a barrier but it is best to always use butcher paper for protection.

Hi there, I'm new to all of this so I hope this doesn't sound like I'm asking an obvious question. I noticed that when I uploaded your pointsettia file that I only see 1 of each part. The only thing I see more than 1 of is the start. I'm using a maker not a maker 3. Does that make the difference?

Do you reuse your hiipoo bottles? Is there a reason I shouldn't buy the syringe style bottles and empty them into the auto fill ones? Or I wonder if you could just reuse the caps?
@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker День назад
Reusing Hiipoo bottles for your Epson EcoTank for sublimation Hiipoo ink can be a practical idea. Many users find it convenient to refill their auto-fill bottles rather than constantly buying new ones. As for the syringe-style bottles, emptying them into the auto-fill ones should work fine as long as you ensure that the bottles and caps are clean and free from any contaminants that could affect the ink quality. Reusing the caps is also a viable option, provided they fit securely and maintain a good seal to prevent any leaks or contamination. Just make sure to handle everything with care to avoid any issues with your printer or the ink quality.

Love the mats! I have a 9 x 9 heat press and want to sublimate a 11 x 11 image on a men's 3XL shirt. When trying to press the entire Image Will the overlap of continuous heating on finished sections ruin my shirt?
@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker 2 дня назад
You need to be cautious about overlapping the heated sections. Overheating can cause slight discoloration and potentially ruin your shirt. Since your heat press is smaller than the image, you will need to press the image in sections. Make sure to lift the press and cord straight up after each section to avoid shifting the design. When pressing the next section, ensure there is minimal overlap with the previously pressed area. This helps prevent overheating and discoloration. Allow the shirt to cool completely before moving on to the next section. This will help avoid any potential damage from continuous heating. Use Butcher Paper: Place fresh butcher paper on top of each new section to protect the design and ensure even heat distribution.

Can you sublimate on any HTV? Or is there a certain HTV for sublimating on?
@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker 2 дня назад
You cannot sublimate on just any HTV; there are specific types of HTV designed for sublimation. For example, HTV Ron Sublimation HTV and EasySubli HTV are specifically made for sublimation. These types of HTV are designed to hold sublimation ink and provide a suitable surface for the sublimation process. Regular HTV may not work well for sublimation as it is not designed to absorb and hold the sublimation ink properly. jennifermaker.com/sublimate-dark-shirts/

New to Cricut and on my design space I do not have phrases or editable images? Is something wrong?
@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker 2 дня назад
Editable images in Cricut Design Space typically refer to text that you can modify. If you are not seeing editable images, make sure you are looking for text-based designs. You can only edit the text on editable images. If you are not seeing phrases, try using the search function within the images section. You can type in keywords like "phrases" or specific words you are looking for. Also, make sure to use the filter options to narrow down your search. Remember that some images and phrases might be part of the Cricut Access subscription. If you do not have a subscription, you might not have access to all the available content. Ensure that your Cricut Design Space is up to date. Sometimes features or content might not appear if the software is not updated. jennifermaker.com/cricut-access/

I can’t get my clean nozzle to have all straight lines I have one little area that isn’t straight.
@JenniferMaker
@JenniferMaker 3 дня назад
Here are some steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue: Check Ink Levels: Ensure that all your ink reservoirs are filled past the minimum level. Low ink levels can cause issues during the cleaning process. Print a Nozzle Check Sheet: Navigate to the maintenance section on your printer and select the option to print a nozzle check sheet. This will help you identify which nozzles are clogged. Printhead Cleaning: If the nozzle check sheet shows missing or broken lines, perform a printhead cleaning. Go to the maintenance section and select "head cleaning" (avoid "power cleaning" unless it's a last resort). This process will take about three minutes. Recheck Nozzle Sheet: After the cleaning, print another nozzle check sheet to see if the lines are now straight and unbroken. If the issue persists, you may need to repeat the printhead cleaning process up to three times. Rest Period: If after three cleanings the problem is still there, turn off the printer and let it sit for 12 to 24 hours. This rest period can sometimes help the ink settle and clear any air bubbles in the lines. Power Cleaning: If the problem persists even after the rest period and additional cleanings, you may need to perform a power cleaning. This is a more intensive process and should be used as a last resort because it uses a significant amount of ink and can be taxing on your printer. Remember to label your nozzle check sheets to track your progress.
