I have a 2008 suzuki z400 and been having a backfire really loud from the exhaust. when have it on neutral or I'm slowing down. My headers are stock but i have a yoshimura slip on exhaust. Any help?
Ocasion 30 : if it’s popping or like a gurgle popping, it’s usually from an exhaust leak, like fresh air going into your joint like at the slip-on to downpipe joint. Mine does because the little aluminum sleeve has worn down and doesn’t seal good anymore. If it’s backfiring, like exploding, maybe you’re too rich and unburned fuel is making it into header and post-detonating. Premium or race fuel is also slower burning than regular gas, maybe using regular unleaded could help if that’s your situation (a guess) Explore those options. Hope it helps 👍
I’m not an expert, but from my understanding popping comes from air getting in your exhaust (like from an exhaust leak somewhere) or maybe it happens from pipe being too large of diameter. But mine did it because there was an exhaust leak at the muffler slip-on joint to down pipe/header connection
@@kbrawlz ok my mechanic say my pipe big gun evo does the popping... I use 165 main jet bud on 4,5 gear she bogging I don't know what is wrong the idle is perfect
I can make one for the ignition. What vehicle do you have, some of the older pre '91 stuff uses gm cylinders and can be a little different, concept same, but disassembly different

Locksmith shop. You can find them online. If it's for jeep ask for a Chrysler/Dodge cap. There is a large (~1-1/4 - 1-1/2") and small. (~3/4 - 1") Older Jeeps (like renix [pre-91]) usually use the larger ones
Google "jeep lock cylinder cap" and you can see the photos and even find them for sale. If there is a locksmith shop locally, start there. I pay .50¢ for mine
You don't reuse the old one. They sell new covers in black or chrome/silver. The new ones have 3 or 4 tabs that you bend around the lip. I use a flat screwdriver to get the initial bend, then a spring-loaded center punch seats them nice, but you can also tap with a finish hammer and/or screwdriver. I will make a video on that and one on ignition lock in a little bit.
Sorry for late reply. You can do it easily if you have the key for it, and somewhat hard if you don't. It can be done though. I will make a video for that. Sorry. I do these projects and forget to record them.
kbrawlz i have a z400 and have a fmf q4 slip on exhaust and im thinking if putting a stage 2 jet kit So i can run w/o air box lid would it be running to rich cause its a slip on or would it be fine?
Late reply, sorry. Yes, same pins will work... HOWEVER. If your vehicle has some years on it, the pins might be worn down a bit and it's good to replace while you're in there. But yes, it should work as long as the worn key and the worn pins weren't the original problem
Hi kbrawlz, have you done this with your ignitions? I have a 1993 Jeep YJ and I need to cut new keys for it. I used this video to pull apart my door lock, and I made a working key using the pins from my door locks. I copied the cut on both sides, but it doesn't want to work in the ignition. I pulled the ignition out to see if I could pull it apart and I can't figure it out. Thanks.
Yes, I'll make a video. The ignitions are different in how they come apart and the pins are different sometimes too. I'm sure this doesn't help you now, 2 years later.

This video sucks. First you are on the wing so quit moving the camera from one window to another second disable the crappy audio and overdub some music or something.
MrDirtyDieter it's on the bottom all you do is shut it and then count you're turns out it's anywhere between two and a half or three turns it's a little flat head screw on the bottom sometimes it might be a little cover on it copper either drill it out or hit it out with a tap
