I do wish he’d acknowledge Nick Massi’s passing in his opening introduction. I know I was wondering why only 3 members were present the first time I saw this clip and had to go research.
Jarrod is one of the most underrated voices on Broadway. It was amazing to see all that footage of his childhood, what a tribute. He’s probably the best vocally to grace the part of Frankie in Jersey Boys. His tone and his control with both the falsetto and the chest voice is unmatched.
My son took me to see Jersey Boys in San Francisco. Obviously not this group but a great one nonetheless. His wife had kind of set him up so he wasn't thrilled to be at a play. However, there was enough 'mob' stuff going on for him to enjoy and he was shocked that he recognized all of the music. I wasn't. I raised my kids right. They know all the old songs. That being said, what WAS surprising was all the CHILDREN who were rocking the house by singing EVERY SINGLE SONG as loud as possible!! It was a great time and a great night. I will always love Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons!!
Was in Vegas and Jersey Boys was the first time I saw the show. I was so hooked! Then years later in Houston. And finally in Austin. Also saw the Frankie Valli show in Austin. Just can’t get enough of them 😎. I would see them again if the show were revived. The first time I heard of the Four Seasons was the ‘60s and I’m a senior now, they have the magic making me feel young again. Love them so much!
I so regret that I did not get to see this original company. Two Tony awards in that line-up of four actors at the end. I was visiting NYC when it was in previews. A friend told me, "Do not miss this. It is going to rule Broadway for the next year." And he was right. I did see the national tour--and it truly was extraordinary. Not just a jukebox musical. The book of the show is incredible. It is one of the most perfect pieces of musical theatre I have ever seen. Not an untrue moment the entire time.
I have seen Jersey Boys 11 Times, from New York to Calgary. & I was set to see them a 12th when they went dark. It’s the most AMAZING show & I would see them anywhere. You cry, you laugh & you dance. Anywhere…
I have been wanting to see this since its inception. But I was a brand new single Mom of an infant and then time just escaped us... I am so happy for you that you seized this incredible opportunity, 3x!! I have never been drawn to musicals, but something about this one just makes you feel totally uplifted- the music, the energy, the rags to riches kind of story and a beautifully orchestrated production of immense talent. 🤩🤩🤩
I am NOT a fan boy....lol....Im a union actor, and Ive seen this NINE times....LOL.....I LOVE this musical......this moment has you fall out of your seat!
I have to admit that I found the newer production more enjoyable. The choreography seems better planned overall. But I may be biased as I didn’t see the 2006 cast in person.
Wish I lived in New York. If I did I'd probably spend half my income seeing musicals on Broadway. Just saw a traveling version of Jersey Boys again. Never tire of it!
Saw this production, often from the first row, and it was better each time. The skill on the display, and the direction which made you feel you were being told a scary story, it was always so brillkiant.
With the new revival coming I’m happy to say that I saw THIS revival I liked it when the actors/musicians played as they acted!! It was a breath of fresh air
I agree. I saw the original stage production with Angela Lansbury and Len Cariou. It was my 1️⃣st Broadway musical 🎶. I was floored. Now when I hear that music 🎶 I still get chills. I hope it wins this year.
Having seen the concert Patti definitely has what it takes to play this part and definitely made it her own. Michael also just seems natural in the role. I’m just not a huge fan of the actors as the orchestra. It worked a little better with Company. Idk which one is harder to sing/ play music in but both are very musically demanding shows. I know the touring version of this one did not cast well for the hybrid.
I saw the show “Jersey Boys” in Vegas and it was fabulous, and I am a guy that doesn’t like musicals. Since then I have seen the touring version TWICE. And the movie too! I’d see it again if the opportunity came around. Thank you Frankie and Bob Gaudio.
I Absolutely LOATHE the Charlie Browning (🤗🤣) of this revival. Ooo ahhh the actors can play the score… look how talented they are! 🙄🙄 It completely draws me away from the story. It’s unfair cause this Sweeney is a boss❗️ But in this quest to “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” this masterpiece, something is really lost. You can miss HOW good he & some of the other cast are. [the score is a masterpiece] H8-ed it! Plus, I like “big” shows BIG! Nuttin is better than a sizeable ensemble delivering “The Ballad Of” 🤩 This is like scaling down a Ragtime or JC Superstar! Which is horrifying!
