I've always considered: Lots of people take political or other serious advice from actors. Famous Hollywood actors are likely the FARTHEST from most people's demographics/lifestyles that any group of people could be. They work ultra long hours, make bazillions, live in a secured and guarded home, can't go shopping or to the movies or anywhere without bodyguards, drivers, publicists, handlers. If that WERE the actual thoughts of the actor, I'd sure want to consider that HIS opinion on things could/should be greatly different than that of essentially all of the target audience. He simply isn't able to view life the way some school teacher living in Irwindale needs to view life. (Baldwin park checkin' in seventy-four degrees) Then consider the commercial/spot/ad: Every word you every hear from an actor is from a script. It's essentially always someone else's words. Your job is to interpret the words of writers. The actor made several dozen takes, with lighting, hair, makeup, wardrobe. All in a high dollar exchange for services. Later the editors whittle it around to look and sound the way they want. And that's to hear the audience say "Boy that 'actor xxx', he makes a lot of sense". Their target is those with low self confidence.

Addiction and untreated mental illness is the cause of the homeless problem in Seattle. I worked in the heart of the population, for years, this is a fact; Dr. Drew is correct. Genuinely homeless people come and go, and you rarely see them again, the system can work for the genuinely homeless population. With addiction, you are dealing with an illness, and an unwillingness to deal with it, as is the same with the mentally ill who don’t take their meds. If you remove this population, it would be a simple problem to solve. So if we deal with the actual variables, as opposed to the b.s. pity party that these people unconsciously or otherwise seem quite willing to exploit, we might get somewhere.
