STEPH!!!!!! I was so excited when you started posting again. If my watch later list wasn’t OUT OF CONTROL you’d already have a hundred comments from me 🤣❤️
📔 Just found your channel, really enjoyed this vlog. As someone who WORKS conferences, as a banquet waiter, it's fun to get the perspective of an attendee. (I definitely know what you mean when you spoke of "poster session", :-) Glad your talk went well and that you did some successful networking! Thanks for sharing, Martine. 😊
Loved seeing Ernie. A week before is exactly the same as yours. A few ToDo lists. When I traveled at your age, I carried a paperback book, if I finished it I would leave it in the airport. And invaribly someone would say I just finished this if you want it, and thus a book for the return home. Of course you can't do that in 2024. Enjoy your much deserved vacation -- no working, rest and enjoy the family.
They do have systems at a ton of airport bookstores about buy and return policies around the country, but generally it's definitely a lot different from how it used to be haha.
I was so upset when they started doing Emily Henry books in hard cover. 😩 luckily I’m patient and stubborn so I’ll just wait till the paperback comes out 😂
The hardcover thing is so weird to me, here like 90% of books come out only as paperbacks and the only books that get different editions are classics and very popular romances made into pocket-sized versions 🤔
You are so refreshing. I'm excited for you. Yes ma'am I use an E-reader. I have my original Kindle (favorite). The case texture and the fit in my hand is perfect. I upgraded to a Paperwhite because I misunderstood night reading. But, I use it. it's heavier and doesn't fit as well in my hand. But along came my favorite booktuber with straps (plug your ears, I screamed) What are those, I want some. ❤ I was as excited as you when I got my Kindle. I thank God for the science, the gift as I'm older and reading 😮 11/22/63. I love the Kindle (Libby) to read along with audiobooks. I'm looking forward to your did you know Kindle features vid (I search for those at least once a year). I'm sure you'll teach me something. Love the haircut.
The brand is called Strapsicle!!! Just make sure you select the ones that are the right size for your kindle. If you scroll down on the amazon pages (if that's what you're using to purchase), they tend to have a fit chart so you can ensure that the ones you buy will fit your kindle perfectly. They are also listed on their website. As a low vision reader who also might be developing some golf elbow from holding heavy books, I'm IN LOVE with my kindle. Glad you're excited to follow this journey with me <3
Hi Martine -- The Ballerinas looks interesting. Lolol @ the same price now GIrls of flight and The Ambassador's Daughter are two I would pick up and not read the synopsis.
Do you ever turn on an audiobook and readalong with the E book? I do that probably 1-2 books a month. Accents, topics, translations, for different reasons. As I've gotten older, retired 😚, it is hard to hold physical books. When I was younger I had to read hard cover 🤷. Funny, just yesterday I added approx 50 books to Goodreads that were physical books I haven't read but want to. I donated them. There is no point holding onto them. I only kept what I couldn't find a free E or Audiobook. As always loved the content, made me think. 💝
I usually only prioritize physical books when they're from the library and I have 5 days left to read them 😂 Otherwise I try to focus on audiobooks because I pay a monthly fee for them and I don't want to end up listening to just one or two
I would not have found your channel if you hadn’t done this. What a lovely personality you have, glad I came here and SUBBING IMMEDIATELY. Keep being you! Much love and more power to you ❤
ugh I just LOVE hearing your thought process about HOW you approach reading / analyzing your reading habits. Literally such interesting content AS ALWAYS 🩷🩷🩷
