Did you know that another comedy actor, Billy Crystal, had a long friendship with Muhammad Ali? In fact, after Ali's passing in 2017, Crystal made a huge speech at his funeral explaining how Ali he considered to be "His brother." That's how close they were.
This just goes to show how much of a badass Muhammad Ali was. He was physically and mentally ravaged by his condition at this point, but he *still* had an amount of showmanship few could ever hope to rival. You have to be one damn strong-willed man to keep your head up in the face of everything else in your world trying to drag you down, and he did it.
