Thank you! I have a question regarding the scroll and artefact cards as they do not exist in the ultimate box for the PvP mode; aren't they necessary for the PvP? Do you have any experience with the new PvP mode changes?
Yes scrolls and artifacts were available to be used in PvP with arena the contest but they were optional to the game mode and from my experience (I've ran 3 official tournaments) I've never had interest from any players to use them because they added extra complexity but not much additional fun to use. For example you are supposed to take the scrolls and decide with your opponent which cards will be kept (I believe it's a deck of 40 cards) after a ban and then there's a back and forth to build the decks which just added a lot of time to PvP and most players enjoy the team synergies and abilities of the 73 available heroes more than those cards. Also the penumbral arena cards became more interesting to players since they add a minor role change that modifies existing abilities. For ultimate, since those cards weren't used in any other game mode than PvP and they weren't popular I believe the team decided to phase them out of the game. If you get a copy of those cards you could still use the older rule book to play them if you wish. We have that rule book on the discord server.
@@Phlanx06 Thank you very much! Well then it seems their absence is not actually that detrimental to the PvP gameplay after all. It’s good to know though! Thanks again!
@@kyleeverly6333 unfortunately I think it's only 1. There was a problem with the gamefound system that allowed people to follow the campaign after it already started defeating the point of following early so everyone will get one is my understanding since we can't tell who backed early vs followed later on.
Looks great, but i dont know which version to buy! Original sw dbg has much more iconic cards while the clone wars version is said to have better mechanics. Have you played both? Which would be better to get if i can only get one?
Yes I've played and own both. Both are really good. I think the emperor/rebellion set is more straightforward so if you're new to a game like this it's a great starting point. If you're more advanced and have played other deckbuilding games in the past then I suggest the new set with the Republic/Separatists Happy gaming!
Wow you are reeeeeally late to the Drunagor Party 😀 Hope you made it safely back home from Essen. Was a pleasure to meet and dine with you. Unfortunately that evening was the only evening where I still was somewhat operational. All the other days I was sooo busy and whenever the day was over totally spent! I hope this didn't came across as unfriendly. Loved our game of Go Bomb! though :D
@@andreasgabel I know but I'm excited to continue. I've been working my way through oathsworn but I'll probably pack it up and take out Drunagor. Yeah man it was great to finally meet and no problem I definitely understand how exhausting the conventions are but I still got some good time with some of the others so it's all good. Yeah the only sad thing was I forgot to get a copy of go bomb. I'm sure we will meet again. I hope you had a good drive back as well
So they've been working on a revised balance track since this video aired that is more straight forward and less to manage. I'm hoping they can show more of the track in an upcoming campaign update.
How big is the story part? Is it a whole phaser like Oathsworn, or are we talking intorduction of the scenario and parts of story during the scenario at certain checkpoints?
It's really both. There's elements of the story at the start of the adventure where you make decisions that will have consequence for your quest and campaign and then during the actual dungeon you will encounter story elements and you can do side quests during the dungeon
I just received my Tanares Ultimate box and this was wicked helpful. Thanks for putting this together! Have you attempted to sleeve the mini and standard cards to determine if they fit with sleeves? Looking at my box, it looks like there is room but just wanted to check.
I haven't since I had 3 different versions of the game and it takes quite a bit of time. I believe others have been able to do this but you can check in the discord. Glad I could help
Everyone of them except me is brazilian. But since Rick lives in the US the company is also registered in the US which makes international business A LOT easier.
Thanks for the video. Didn't even know there was an update to the Dragon Collection. How would one get this update pack? I got my DC on the second-hand market.
Thanks for making this Phlanx! Those of us that got translations of everything and so far have received the Arena/Legendary Box/Dragon Collection translations with the shipment of 1. edition TA, how will we receive the updated translated material of the dragon collection? Will it be delivered with the rest of the translation someday?
@crivgil just to verify you did check out this video to see the cards and where they are already? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--R6c1UnryVA.htmlsi=9i7VBScoipGkg1AU
Why do you recommend to keep the old version of Dark Light for PvP? In the other video you say Attack Cards are no longer used for PvP, just the dashboards. Can't I get rid of all cards not used in the campaign? I really wish Dragori would have applied a bit more consistency when updating this product. Now some attack cards are labeled TA to signify they are special cards for the campaign while some (this one) aren't. Then in one video you are supposed to differentiate between PvP and PvE attack cards while in the next video there no longer are PvP attack cards at all. PvP attack cards were essential to track effects while now they suddenly aren't. And you don't get PvP attack cards for some characters so you can't even keep using them if you want. And now some attack cards say you get a mana cube on a miss while some don't say that despite this always being the case. Judging from the cards alone now, I'd guess just some characters have the benefit of gaining a mana cube on a miss. It really just is kind of a mess, does not really feel "ultimate". Updating and improving things is fine but it's a problem when you only update half a product. Why I bring this up: Do you know if all these inconsistencies will be ironed out in the translations we are still waiting for since forever or will all mistakes be copied into the translations? Thanks! Edit: Down below in a comment you said to keep the two legendary attacks since they are still used. The UTNA Support document says to throw them out. Which is correct?
Attack cards are no longer to be used in PVP as a game mode but if you own the previous attack cards you can still use them. For new boxes of ultimate they didn't print a difference in cards between PVE and pvp to simply this and that's why you use only the heropads instead of heropads and attack cards. I certainly still believe its better to use the attack cards than just hero pads but I'm sure it will help speed up the game mode even more by just using heropads. Yes they wanted to add a reminder for players to get a mana cube when you missed on a primary attack but for older backers that would require reprinting all of the old cards and it would be a mess of if you didn't own certain boxes then you would have to repurchase boxes or allow some other way to get the cards which would of been significantly more confusing. So yeah it's not a great solution but I don't know if there would of been anything easier to do. They should be updated when they print for the translation since the graphic designer will have to touch just about every component again to make every language. So alex's thought was since they created a new legendary blade card that had a bonus for certain heroes when you used that card you could just remove the others. I spoke to him about this, if you keep the card there's no harm and it allows more legendary item cards to be available for players to choose from. He agreed but that was only after he had submitted the support document and since its such a minor change it's not a huge deal either way if you keep it or not. But at least now you can make that decision.
How can I contact dragori games for my tanares adventures pledge? I had 2 separate orders and some parts of the second order shipped with the first one but others have not. I tried contacting the dragorigames email but no answer so far
@@Phlanx06so i have an update regarding this. I contacted the email but no response. I got my first shipment for the All In pledge but the super boxes are empty. I paid $700 and i got 2 super boxes empty and the only content i got is the dragon collection, phoenix and 3 more big minis. I need some help
If the late pledge all in doesn't show it should be because you backed a pledge level of the Odalin campaign when it was running. If you only see the Odalin all in that's actually better because it's slightly less than the late pledge all in once you account for all the late pledge new items
When is book 2 releasing on the foreteller app and why is it taking so long. I purchased the app over a year ago in the good faith that I would have a complete product to use when I received the game earlier this year. There's a lot of reading and the idea of audio is what got us excited for the new content, but our group has had to put the game on pause since March of this year in order to wait for the completion of the three books. The fact that I paid for something almost 2 years ago that is still incomplete has soured me on Dragori which is sad because I love the products.
@@gabeelliott hey Gabe, here's the schedule for Forteller audio releases. Update as of August 6th 2024 Many have been asking when the forteller add-on will be released, here is the actual and estimated schedule for unreleased parts of the add-on: Campaign book 1 (weeks 1 and 2) - released Campaign book 2 (weeks 3 and 4) - Mid September Campaign book 3 (weeks 5 and 6) January 2025 Campaign book 4(Extras/time twist) - Q2 2025 I have discussed with them on getting this schedule tightened up since we know players don't want a protracted release schedule. They are going to try to get book 3 completed by November. This would conclude the main Tanares ultimate storyline and then the extras book were trying to get moved in as well. One of the challenges that occurred is all of the Tanares ultimate content is over 300,000 words which takes a significant amount of time to record with voice actors and edit the content for each path, this is by far the longest part but the final text wasn't fully complete until the late fall of 2023. Some unexpected changes to the end of the week texts slowed things down a lot which is what put them behind schedule. We had planned to have a phased approach for releasing the game that was discussed in a previous Tanares ultimate due to how long it was taking to complete everything but it had exceeded the original plan of all the content being completed by the end of this year unfortunately. I'm doing everything we can to try to get forteller to speed up the release including adding an additional audio engineer to complete the sound as soon as possible. I hope you have been enjoying the currently released content so far
@@Phlanx06 That definitely helps give me a better understanding of things and I appreciate the awesome response. I love the game and our group has been eager to get it back to the table once the audio is done for books two and three.
Played through Arena, got to the end of week 1 in Tanares, and our campaign stalled out (wrong group) now we are starting Tanares again so this was really helpful for getting it set up again since organizing Ultimate.
Thanks for the video; really helpful. I went all-in like you and so I tried to change my Abandon day one gift to the sleeves but it didn't seem to apply the discount to the sleeves. Have I done something wrong in how I have done it?
@@23101981mr when you select the day 1 gift and choose the sleeves option that adds the sleeves. You don't have to add the sleeves separately. You can tell because the day 1 gift will days +$30 sleeves, the normal price of sleeves is $49
Hi Phlanx, i have a doubt. In a battle against a Boss,if I use a skill that move a villain, it takes 12 DMG and not move,is correct?because it is consider controlled? A villain can move through another villain or boss? In a quest the simbol R (in red) indicate the effect that i must apply at the end of EVERY round (when all are farigued)? Thanksss!
Forced movement is not considered a controlled effect. A controlled effect would be gaining the ability to attack and move with that character on a turn. Force moving him doesn't count. Yes a villain can move through his allies (other villains) Correct the end of round symbol effect is applied after all heroes/allies and villains are fatigued (having taken their turn)
Regarding mission,i have finish the First week. For the second week, did i choose them from the available ones shown in the table on pages 5 of the book? (L,M,ECC?) When the game give you Two mission, for example in the First week, mission C and D,if you choose D,the C Is Lost?
@@andreasacco172 read the end of week narrative near the back of the campaign book and it will tell you what to do. If it doesn't tell you to remove something you keep it
I was initially excited for this but after finally consolidating all of my Tanares stuff into the storage cubes and seeing the mountains of grey plastic I came to the realisation that I am done with these miniature heavy games.
No, because new backers don't have TA and non TA versions of cards since all the cards are now to be used in PvE for new backers and in PvP you use the heropads but not any cards
I'm a bit confused. The Standee extra campaign reward was the add-on, right? What about the stretch goals? Is there no separate box for the standee version and the stretch goals all come in the main box?
Firstly thank you so much for doing these videos. It's helped tremendously for sorting through all the stuff, especially the original Arena components. I do have two quick questions though please, if I may: 1. In the Dragon Collection I also have a plastic bag containing another Boss vs Boss rulebook as well as certain duplicates of cards in the box. I'm assuming these are replacement cards. My question relates to Telessa as being a returning backer of the Ultimate box I now have two copies of her hero pad as well as her attack cards. There are differences. For example on her Royal Breath skill one card says it does 20 damage and the other says it only does 18 damage. I'm assuming the higher damage ones are the correct cards as well as the corresponding hero pad? 2. I don't seem to have attack cards for Harun and the Emperor's special versions of them. I have their special four skill cards but not their single attack card. Would I be right in thinking they don't have one since both characters do have an attack card for the Tactician in Harun's case and the Commander in the Emepror's case?
1) Yes this is the dragon collection update kit, any of the cards that mention "R-DMG" or "DMG" are the new cards. Any other component that mentions scrolls should be replaced as scrolls are no longer used. You should replace all of the cards from the upgrade kit with the equivalent cards from the upgrade kit. 2) These characters are only used in PVP, PVP rules were modified to a way to not need the attack cards to play so this might be why you don't have them. But "special role" of those heroes are only playable in PVP
Just got mine today in UK. Zombie Lord… did they change the design since you did this? I can only see that space left for a mini with “AtC 19 TA” on the base. Cheers.
Rather poor job showing which round tokens go inside the slots? I have 22 round tokens with nowhere to place them. Obviously they changed some but who knows?! Not Dragori
hey, appreciate all the hard work in these -- i'm lost with the Pen. Dragon, he was in the penumbral full, but the rest of that box obviously is folded in storage, but there's no other box it fits into
Actually the penumbral dragon does fit in the storage box. Specifically he fits in the walls and large mini box. Start at 0:53 you'll see him at the bottom right ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e4_N0q8a74I.htmlsi=ZwLbZ0nvlOjLVfkH
Ok. Watching the Tanares ultimate box videos, anytime you mention pvp, that means Arena the Contest original rules? Tanares ultimate has no pvp rules, correct? (I see you answered this at the end)
Is there a video to guide through the transition from AtC to Tanares prior to the Ultimate re-org? I wound acquiring AtC first, played that a bit and now looking to leapfrog the cull/integration that happened when Tanares came out and jump straight to organizing at the ultimate level but not sure what material in these videos is already presuming you ditched material from the original game.
I apologize if I missed this in your other video's. But I don't see a mention of the Arena the Contest Rule book. I was expecting to see it here maybe. I assume you would need to keep that as well for Arena the Contest. At a quick glance, I don't see any PvP incorporated into the updated Adventures rulebook. So in order to do PvP, team fight, that would still be Arena rules correct? Sorry not trying to cause a stir, just trying to understand. It seems like most people are considering Arena "gone" or have moved to Ultimate. Maybe that is because this storage solution is geared for Adventures. But I would think the team fight aspect would still appeal. I just want to make sure I keep what is needed for that. But don't want to keep stuff that is covered in all the new content. I have not played Tanares since the 1st Adventures content came out. Then I stopped to wait for all this. But had played a fair bit of Arena and think that might be a good time again from time to time. As everyone has said, your video's are a lifesaver, you are the man. I am kicking myself for waiting for the big boxes now, haha. Behind the curve.
Yes please keep your Arena the Contest rulebook since that does contain the PVP rules. I've had quite a few people message me saying they will never play pvp or the origional Arena the Contest rulset again and want to know what to get rid of so it's often hard to gauge what everyone's priorities are. I actually showed the arena the contest rulebook going in with my other rulebooks in the storage guide video in storage box 2 but I didn't make much of a mention of this. PVP is a lot of fun and i wish more people would give it a chance because its actually designed very well.
@@Phlanx06 Thank you Sir! I did find a few other references and your other video on Arena the Contest. I have decided to follow you and keep that box with relevant material. What do you think about the large hero pads. I saw you put them under the villain cards in Box 1 storage, but then it appears you also show them in your Arena box. If I am keeping the Arena box is there any reason to put them in the Ultimate? Seems they are only used for Arena PvP. Keep it all in one place as much as possible. Thanks again.
@@LoganBeatty-d9x So that's exactly what some other backers have done to simplify finding components for themselves so that works. The heropad that you probably saw in my Arena box was the alternate art for Thalia, this was a stretch goal from Arena the Contest 1.0 campaign. I don't really need to have 2 of them so its just extra which is why i put it in my arena box
@@Phlanx06 Thanks again for your responses in addition to all the work on the videos. Think I finally have it all together thanks to you. Happy adventuring!
Nice video, very enlightening. I have doubt still about the Time twist rulebook from Tanares Adventures... is it still needed or is it included in the Ultimate books? Thanks
Thank you! This was a lifesaver...I started organizing then waited for the rest of my shipment to finish. Needless to say, I forgot my old/new organization while waiting! Dumb question, why don't you put small marks on the fronts of your cards identifying the expansion & revised like Fantasy Flight used to do (when they were the kings of big box games - may they rest in peace)?
@@JuraIbis the world phase has also been slightly changed from Tanares Adventures. You don't use quest cards anymore. I might have a new version of this one since some people didn't like the original either.
@@andreasacco172 yes, the only thing that stops you from using your skill pad is having enough mana cubes, one skill per turn and using it within the correct timing (eg: on ally turn or on villain turn)
