Elle! Maybe this sounds silly but I like your content simply because it's you, and I find that no matter what the "focus" is (haul, critique, beauty routine, advice), your love of makeup really shines through. My absolute favorite video of yours is the Best Makeup of the Year 2023/ The Chu Choice Awards because your passion and enthusiasm just radiate. I also really like your organizing/ room refresh videos in addition to the beauty reviews, etc. I initially found your channel through a "no budget" video, but I subscribed because I super appreciate your refreshing and informative takes and the variety of your content. I definitely think your videos are chill and calming (like others have said, your voice is perfect for that), and they're a great way for me to wind down while I do my beauty routine etc. You've got the magic, and wherever you take your channel I'm here for the long haul ($$ or no-budget 😜) 💟
It's funny that you mention that you think your channel might give off anxiety, because when you asked the question of what vibes we get, I was just about to comment that your channel gives comfort to me. You have a very soothing way of speaking and I love the chit chaxtty videos. I love the balance you're finding between creativity/playfulness and being mindful about not buying everything out there. I also somehow prefer when regular people give make up advice. I'm not sure what it is, but it seems more attainable than when a professional gives advice?
Not exactly makeup, but I get double duty from lip balm and use it up faster if I also use it as a cuticle cream from my nails. I never thought buying cuticle cream made sense if you already have lip balm..
I have a very similar thought process to yours, so I enjoy listening to you and agreeing, enjoying and complaining with you, I also like the fact that we share similar preferences and problems in makeup, maybe cause I also have oily skin. I do feel like you sometimes come off as anxious or insecure but I like the rawness of your thoughts, makes me feel like I’m with a friend.
Hi Beautiful 🤩 if you want a brown mascara I’m loving the essence lash without limits brown extreme lengthening ❤ pair it with terracotta eyeliner in the waterline it pops more and so flattering for my brown eyes
I'm honestly just glad that my family is finally realizing that I will never use neutral lip colors, brown eyeliner, or pencil eyeliner. I will die on my hill of bold crisp eyeliner and black/purple/green/red/bright pink/every other color in the rainbow lipstick/gloss. I am very alternative in my fashion taste.
This is probably the most mature beauty video I’ve ever come across. Love that we are finally spreading information about using our buying power wisely
I bought this today.. I’m 40, brown skin tone, I have consistently dry skin because of where I live, I decided to give up on matte foundations. I went to Sephora and asked for a good medium coverage, dewy, lightweight foundation and this is what the rep recommended. I tried it on and loved the result. She said it’s buildable..It was unbelievably light and dewy, not drying and cakey at all. I’d rather my skin look a bit greasy that I know I can bloat than have dry and cakey face. This one immediately brightened my face and I loved it.
Could you please do a video on make up brushes or tools that you use? Love your make up, but I honestly have no idea what I’m doing with brushes. Thank you!
for the skin 1004 centella line, i just want to give a quick warning and say that it broke me out and gave me painful acne that i’ve never even had before. i might just be allergic to centella as an ingredient, but if you want to try them out, i would recommend only buying one product and seeing how your skin reacts to it before getting the whole line :)
Random question: I really love your bangs and I’ve been on the fence about whether or not I want to go back to bangs.. but when I used to have bangs, they would clump up and get oily after a day or two. Is there something you do to keep them looking fresh? I used to get frustrated and I would clip my bangs back and tie up my hair
I’ve had a similar experience! My hair is super thick and naturally straight (plus I have oily skin) so they will always be high maintenance. But there are some things that have helped me! I cut my bangs thinner, so when they naturally clump it looks messy in a cute way. If it’s third day hair, I just wash my bangs and blow dry them again as a refresh. I would also recommend to cut bangs longer so you can easily style them to the side if they cause discomfort. Once I applied these tips, the maintenance feels worth it lol
Oooh if you want a colored mascara I recommend getting Korean or Japanese brand mascaras. Like kiss me heroine make, clio (my fave), and etude house. Theyre usually $10 ish too!! I have stubborn asian lashes so these r the besttt
i love your videos soooo much!! keep going, i think youre going to be very popular. i appreaciate your honesty and the way you talk is so relaxing, i love having your vids in the background while i do my makeup. Thank you for making this content
Great haul. I love the nyx butter blush so pretty pigmented! And I love the garnier Micellar water I go through those like water! If you want to try other purple blushes about face has a purple blush, glossier has a purple blush kulfi beauty also has a purple blush and fenty has one as well. I love the treehut shave oil in watermelon smells sooo good and leaves my legs so smooth. I’m thinking of picking up that le mini macaroon set.
You may laugh at this but…I literally use the got2B glued spiking gel (yellow one) for my brow gel/brow mascara! I start my routine by getting a tiny amount of it on a spoolie and brush it thru my brows. Then, I’ll do other steps while waiting for it to dry then fill in my brows w powder or pencil like usual :) it’s an affordable and affective gel and a tube (even the small) can last you a long time. I tend to love the more laminated brow myself and have stubborn brows and it’s the only product that makes them STAY.
Not really sure why it’s called laminating gel, it won’t give you the soap brow look, but it will give you incredible hold that keeps every single brow hair in place, even on the tails!!
The aftershave oil from Treehut has quickly become a MUST HAVE for me, especially as someone that uses a body oil immediately after showering so it's easy to grab that instead. Personally, I think it makes a difference, but obviously it's not a miracle product. Definitely go for the coconut one, the scent options leave something to be desired yet.
I love your content Elle. You inspire us all to be careful with our purchases, but also live without guilt, and learn to enjoy makeup. Keep up the great content ❤❤
