I really like this double snap swivel method on the planer but i would be scared to cut the snap open like that.....has it ever come off and gotten lost when the fish runs and takes line?? Thanks guys, good content.
It's kinda hard to understand your description of setting the planer this way. It's not making sense to me. Im very interested in this but just can't grasp what your saying. It's probably me not you lol! Thanks for the info
You mean using the bridle? It looks more complicated than it is… if you reply I’ll send a pic of how it’s supposed to be set up . Basically though there’s a thin swivel that can run through the guides and you tie your main line to one swivel and the an open snap to the other side (the open snap is joined with a normal snap that attaches to the plainer. The same goes for the second swivel. Tie your shock leader to one side and the send goes through the open swivel and snaps to the other side of the plainer. The swivels/snaps are attatched to a thin piece of braid so that when the plainer gets to the boat all that has to be done is detwtch both snaps from the last plainer and set it down and the main line and leader line will both be attatched to one end of the bridle so that you can continue reeling the leader in as the swivels and small piece of braid willl go right through the guides into your spool. They’re only 15 dollars for the bridle
@@ckaz2806 I think the bridle is 200 lb. I didn’t make it. I bought it from big dog tackle. They make them custom in the store. It includes the bridle and snaps. Call them. (954) 933-7587. They will sell and ship. It will be the best $16 you will ever spend. Good luck!
