you know why they call it KITT KR 8.. its because that after micheal Ended the final series the KITT KR 82 wasnt used anymore but then micheal came back and change the appearance with transformation KITT with computer reprogram So with that being said Micheal had a son. So kitt's voice box sounded like K.A.R.R. And yes, based on the true story the KITT KR 8 is a 2008 shelby Car and an old shelby 82 aka the KITT KR 8 2000, meewhile the KITT KR 8 is the same but with advanced technology. keep it in mind im changing topics.
While the original customized Pontiac Firebird will always stay as the ideal K.I.T.T. car, I quite enjoyed the Mustang Shelby GT500KR. It just makes more sense to have K.I.T.T. be a regular, albeit a special kind of vehicle instead of a custom one of a kind (well not really lol) black wedge of awesomeness. Probably should've kept the transformations just to the Attack Mode and even then, I would've preferred the smaller-winged, more subtle version from the pilot instead. K.A.R.R. was awesome though and genuinely made me feel scared as a kid.
This series would have worked much better if they had not created a "KITT Transformer" with that they went wrong ...! I would have to recruit him Optimus Prime!
Probably you are right. They tried to much to be new. Changing the Car I get, but that Transformer things.... well I think Ford wanted to have more advertisment for different type of cars (pick up etc.) :D

this show was an example among 1000 others of what happens when you make a reboot just for the sake of cashing in on the name and not actually trying to make a tv series with its own story, character arcs and charm.

I was around 12 when I first watched this,thought it was the coolest car ever ,yeah when you look at the 80s it was kinda better without the cgi but even with its trash cgi I liked it
