The Super Omnibox contains every retro video game ever made and serves them up to our intrepid hosts completely randomly! A NES game about delinquent detectives? A hilariously inappropriate dating game on the PC-FX? Sonic Adventure 2? No one knows what the next roll will bring!
There's so much good-bad FMV in it. We do a full playthrough around 2 hours into our stream titled "How Did We Get Here?". I'll have to make a highlight of it to follow this one up.
Thank you for watching, we had a blast playing it. You may be one of the few that finished the whole thing so far. Be sure to check out our Balan Wonderworld playthrough for another game we had a lot of fun with for entirely different reasons...
This game is great, and one of the most underrated on Genesis. Great story, really nice graphics, and while being similar to Flashback or Another World, it had some unique and challenging gameplay aspects. I wish there's a remake of it of some sort.
1:40 this entire segment feels and looks almost exactly like the kind of crispy early flash games that you'd see on newgrounds or albinoblacksheep (especially albinoblacksheep) around the early to mid 2000s. I distinctly remember one that was supposed to be a William Hung dance simulator that had an extremely bitcrushed rendition of "She Bangs" and some equally crunchy looking low res images from American Idol.
Nah this game is amazing. Great story too. The ending was 🤯 It's unforgiving, but most games of that era were. You kids are spoiled with your easy-ass modern games 🙄
ru-vid.comUgkxMjzDBVvyNtaE8e37q-A-Vi5nRdHKpyoY Hey people, @filmcow just livestreamed this and this song has the ability to display english subtitles. And I wanted to confirm since you're able to translate the lyrics on the fly does it really say "If I'm wrong just hit me."
Thanks, you too! One day we'll sit down and play a Parasite Eve proper. I see you've played Santa Claus Saves the Earth as well... always good to meet another adventurer looking for those diamonds in the rough 🙂
One day we'll roll the original PC version that people seemed to rave about. I don't how well it will hold up to time, especially without the baffling cutscenes they shot for this Turbografx CD port.
Thank you! When we roll things like Private Idol Disk and Santa Claus Saves the World it certainly makes us question reality... I was always fond of Hit the Ice myself, loved the fighting mechanics. Pretty soon here we'll have a highlights channel up and running, so look forward to seeing choice selections of the Best, Worst, & Weirdest the box has to offer
You guys are literal loosers.... get the heck our your living spaces and interact. Part of why our crap or society or civ or w/e is in the shits is because ppl like you too, im not asking you to stop doing this, im asking you to participate in being human, if you can't just say so.
My dude, we stream three nights a week a few hours a piece. Hardly what someone would call 'terminally online'. Don't worry about us two, I know the world seems like its heading in the wrong direction sometimes, but take your own advice and get out there and have some positive experiences. I hope you're doing better by the time this comment finds you.
We're gonna have to check that out. We've got a pretty nifty text to speech tool now that reads just about every language, so now when we roll foreign games we can still get the story
Oh so I guess the PC version is missing footage after all? On the Laseractive version the reason the interrogations happen in the fourth day is because the comissioner gives them 24 hours to wrap up the case, there's a pretty hilarious scene where Rossen trashes the office pissed off by it. Yes I paid way too much money to see that scene but it was totally worth it
I'm guessing you guys played this on the laser disk version? I watched Macaw play this a few days ago and he played the PC version with all Japanese because it doesn't cut out any scenes/footage. There is apparently an English translation in progress but having issues - hope you guys didn't miss any content with this version.
@@superomnibox6945 I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to early multimedia. apparently, a version of the macromedia director player (basically an early version of shockwave flash) was made for the 3DO to make these types of education apps, and i wondered if a sega cd version of such was used to create this game.
@@superomnibox6945 it’s been out 30 years so think Uv had plenty of time 😂😂 this and populas where amazing games before age of empires come on the scene.
heh, what a project:D the neverending story part 3? what shader and bezel are you using in this vid? the live reflections on the frame looks awesome, total immersion:)
yeah, they really double down with Thunder Hoop strikes back. Be sure to check out our Boogie Wings playthrough if you liked this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5oqdKDAflpc.html
I'm not familiar with this series. Are we being too hard on it here? Are there better Cabela's games or is this the average? Wait... are you saying you have this???
@@superomnibox6945 Also, this game feels really like the arcade game Area 51. Did you guy do a play through video of that? I would go look but im drunk and lazy.
@@superomnibox6945 lol I mean, don't get me wrong, it was a fine, fun, challenging game for its time. It's just....*sighs*...well, you are more than fully aware of the 'FMV dependency' games of that era suffered from. Mad Dog McCree was one of the first. So,...let that mean what you will. heh! ;-) Oh yah! Also, I remember my dad buying me the PC version of the game. The arcade game was frustrating. The PC game was....well, the end result was my dad going out to buy a new mouse. .....shit was IRRITATINGLY HARD! Give it a try! :-D
We love rolling a game choc full of bad FMVs, it's just a shame when the gameplay gets in the way. Check out our 'Off World Interceptor' video for another example, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NYuqSUW2iiQ.html
I bought this when came out and not having a computer and only Sega Cd this helped me a lot in school. I stopped using it in bout 1997 when internet started getting better but still used this once in a while for extra info i couldnt find. It was a good thing when came out.
This is a "remake/rerelease?" of the PS2 game Summoner 2 In the O.G PS2 version she looks very different with a more conservative outfit...why the change? Guess boobs sell...(they probably also added the bounce animation). This game also has quite possibly the worst introductory stage ever with that ship battle... It's horrifically disorienting... Once in the regular game the camera is much more manageable. But for some unfathomable reason the camera still seems to permanently point forward... there's NO vertical control of it... So navigating the environment always feels wrong... Especially since the stages are filled with elevated terrain that has you climbing up and down paths or stairs. The game is a pretty basic hack and slash RPG. It's not awful it just isn't great. The most interesting thing about it is the lore and world building... They really went all in on it there's pages and pages of lore basically retelling the entire history of the world from its beginning...🤷🏻♂️
