Voyage has slightly different case design (twisted omega style lugs), as well as the protected crown at 4 o'clock for comfort. It's also 40mm vs this at 38mm. Thanks for tuning in!!
Timex Expedition is a great medium duty field watch. I have a couple. Indiglo puts it over the top for me. If you keep your eye out on eP@y, US shoppers can get these gently used for UNDER $20 US including shipping, handling and tax.
My sla021’s bezel and chapter ring are misaligned worse than this, as are most of them I find pictures of on instagram. Such a shame to ignore these details on such an otherwise beautifully made watch. Still one of my favorites. Is it worth sending it to Seiko or another watchmaker to try and fix it; I don’t know if it’s worth the risk. If anyone else has tried this please weigh in.
A nice remix of elements from the Hamilton Khaki and the Marathon, with a few new elements (the crown!) and enough of a twist that it looks decent and not like a carbon copy. But with all that... I don't know why they'd copy the almost-insane 48mm lug to lug from the Hamilton. It's going to be a lot stranger of a fit than a 38mm watch should be.
Frustratingly, I ordered this watch the minute it became available and I am still waiting for it to leave the Boderry premises. The tracking still hasn't updated. This is made more aggravating, since I am supposed to be a VIP customer, having purchased six watches from them. Also, when I ordered the watch, I intended it to be sent to my home address, since I have been on summer holiday, but now that I have to return to work, I won't be there whenever it finally arrives in country, clears customs and is delivered. Dammit Boderry!
Great watch for the field! I'm about to take it hiking next week. The number on the back (0423) doesn't seem to be a serial number, since my watch has the same number. Maybe it's a model number. There are some good strap options for fixed lugs, such as Hawkrigger straps and Frogsquadstraps (site is private at the moment). Erika's Originals also has an option for fixed lugs, if you're familiar with those.
@@silkytp789it is not tritium. The intensity of tritium glow is not be affected by black light. Also, if it was tritium, it would need to be called out somewhere on the watch. Either in the dial or in the case back.
a screw-down crown does not mean that the watch is more water-tight than without. Threads are in wristwatches because if the watch gets a bump directly on the crown, then it lasts longer and water does not necessarily get into the mechanism, but it has no direct effect on water resistance and the watch can easily be made 200m water resistant without a screw down crown
@@OFD i am a watchmaker so yes i know how it works and it can be designed to have an effect on water tightness but origi ally and usually its not what makes your watch water resistant
