Nah, they knew about OG's IO. Kuro was too cocky durint this series thinking they could beat the IO. He even ignored miracle asking to ban ember or pick it for him their previous game and OG picked ember and they got destroyed by that ember destroyed them

Io carry was good... But really.. Liquid had that game going in their favour. For me it wasn't the IO carty but the Diffusal gyro was what changes the game
Agree but OG was still lacking damage. The io carry just completed that lineup. Liquid just couldnt focus on one of them coz kill io, gyro gonna burn mana and youll die to io spirits and timber. Kill gyro to get rid of manaburn, io keeps him alive while he's killing you together with timber. You just cant ignore it. Liquid didnt have any burst to take down one or the other.
Liquid already beat carry IO vs Team Secret, but with meepo and lesh. They have the good strategy against them, but they have bad heroes to execute it. In the Liquid vs Secret, both meepo and lesh can push a lane alone, but this team comp cannot do it.

In the context of that tournament ana IO is feared well known. After 100% winrate in that TI every team learned to ban IO so it doesnt get picked by OG as carry.

How can u blame them if they're confused bout io carry or not when they got gyro timber aba in the team. All of them were common sense heroes w role. It was 2019 dota playstyle before people started to play sup hero as core and core hero as sup like u have nowdays as tb pos 4/5. And its literally basic combo w gyro 1 n io 5. Hence, narrow their lineup draft w timber tiny abaddon flexible and OG make it work as u can see in ti9

Liquid played against Nisha’s Io carry before reaching Grand Finals and OG has used Io carry in games before the GF. Please get your facts straight. Miracle told Kuro to let the Io through and play against it. But it didn’t work out. That was all. It was a broken hero and got nerfed not long after TI9.
