Loved this, thanks for the insight! New Beastmen player here, been watching from the sidelines and picking up AOS models over the years and now's finally my time lol. I got the 6th edition rules and army book to start with, until I get someone to teach me TOW. Any advice on which editions have nice books for the Beastmen?
I definitely share to inspire, not to create jealousy! It took a lot of time for sure, and if money is a concern (when isnt it!) maybe some alternative routes to get the models, but you can totally achieve this and I would love to welcome another brother or sister to the ranks of the 122nd!
@@thehiddenheretic All good man, I am just messing around with the jealous bit. It is great looking. I did a offshoot of Vogen 122nd Commandos after the war and rebuilding. I based it off Karskin Bodies and made a city fight army.
@GhostMaker00 I was also just joking around and knew you weren't serious, so hard to convey tone online haha. And the idea of some commandos forming from the survivors at the end sounds cool!
@STRDUST-jz4ug I'm out of bits, but if I end up with more I will make some. But it was super easy, just slapped cadian arms on the bodies and was really happy with the outcome.
@Krumi300 this was a chaos lord that came out in 8th edition fantasy and then carried on with AoS. Unfortunately, I think it's discontinued now but may be available if you check stores with old stock.
Thanks, Berlin Camo was a real find for me, and matched my vision of an abandoned and rotting Hulk's interior perfectly! I love putting them on the board even if the bases don't quite match. At some point I need to do another squad of them because I love the Kasrkin so much.
just saw this first message and I repeat, take small steps and you can build this too! The Vogen campaign needs more boots on the ground, send what you can!
Man a 19 minute review of a 216 paint, paint set and the first 12 minutes are focused on the box! Pro tip, most folks didn't drop $500-600 because they are worried about the box. I bought mine, the trays weren't included. I'm glad the box was jammed full of paints to the point where they couldn't have fit another bottle inside if they tried. Oh, and the paints are glorious. Great coverage, smooth as silk and perfect for wet blending, layering, edge highlighting, etc. Great for beginners and experienced painters alike.
@socalastarte6727 hahaha yeah, this was meant to have a follow up, but I had some real life issues pop up that have put me out of making videos for a bit. I'm only just getting back into it now. There will be a part 2 when I finally get the last footage I need done, thanks for reminding me to add that to what I'm working on right now haha
@happyshooter01happyshooter44 Thank you, that means a lot to hear, and hopefully, the videos that I am working on now as I try to get back at it will be just as fun for you too watch.
@@Memes.Del.Internet. Sí, me sentí atraído inmediatamente por él cuando era adolescente. Esto fue escrito con el traductor de Google y mi conocimiento del francés, así que espero que todo tenga sentido. Gracias por el comentario.
I think it was snakebite leather/tausept ochre depending on the generation paints you remember and I used Balor as I recall, need to find my recipe (write these somewhere safe because I have some serious regret with certain older armies and not writing this down somewhere safe lol)
I assure you that I have a PACK 1520 from Battle Foam loaded for bear, most just need to be repainted is all. Back around 08 I bought the tank company at gamesday, and that wasn't my only large tank purchase, so the motor pool is.....absurd
I'll tell ya what's scattered, the skirts of your prints. Place them closer together. It is easier to take off the plate and uses less resin, not to mention it means all your supports are in one big brick for disposal or recycling
It's a great model, probably one of my favorites in all of fantasy and I'm happy to have it in my collection. I've been trying to find time to do a new video, maybe a quick series of shorter ones on minis from my collection that I absolutely adore would be fun and get me motivated haha
The originals are for sure, but these plastics came out relatively recently. Getting all the old loose weapons may be a pain now, though. I don't recall how many loose weapons are in the new cadian box, so I guess we may need to print guns/gun arms now for this conversion. Still looks sharp, though, and I enjoy them quite a bit
I’ve been really considering this lately. Started collecting some 7th ed codecies to give it a shot. Definitely let us know what you think and if you come up with an easy method.

I gave it a good go and mostly it seemed like it was just a matter of swapping in appropriate USRs, but I couldn't get anyone really interested to give it serious time so my transition didn't make it very far haha.
The coverage was very good, I used a lot of thin layers to get him done but that was more by design than a fault of the paints. But the reality is that it still isnt a smooth single coat for coverage over black, that title still belongs to the old GW foundation paints, though maybe something like monument can do it, I just don't want to expand my range any further at this point haha, I have so many to work with. But even if it needs 2 coats for full coverage, they are 2 very smooth coats and worth checking out.
I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one with a dodgy box. I thought it was just me but you’re right, nothing seemed designed to fit properly and the thing basically tore itself apart. 😂
It's definitely a 1st world problem and one that I have barely thought of after the first day, but I'm glad I didn't find a need to return these a day or 2 later as it was quite trashed after trying to "fix it" lol
It's more accurate to call it a flexible triad system, rather than just "flexible triads". As you point out a triad is three colours. Personally, I refer to the groups of 6 as "colour families" that have been designed with the flexible triad system in mind.
Yeah, the name is still weird but after using it, a lot I might add, it's actually really nice even if I still seem to have decided on the 3 main colors for each one anyways haha. And those extra 3 colors make it easier to decide what to go with as an alternative if I feel too lazy to mix something up
Saddened to hear about your loss, she was a big part of your world and it leaves a big hole when they have to go on. I'm glad to hear it sounded like a peaceful passing for her with minimal discomfort. Take care.
Thanks, we had been preparing for it for a while due to her age (14) but it was never going to be easy as she was a big part of our family and with us almost as long as my wife and I have been together. Thankfully the last 2 weeks have been really busy for me and I was able to keep myself distracted, though usually once night comes and I do my before bed routine it sinks in that I won't be letting her in and out, checking food and water, etc and I get a little sad. But we have lots of great memories of her and are happy that it was as easy on her as it was likely going to be.
@@thehiddenheretic The process of keeping busy does a really good job of keeping things off our minds, however it is double edged as it means we also can postpone those thoughts and grief. By being busy and thinking we put off thinking about the things really affecting us. Sounds like you have developed a routine for going about the day and a positive outlook on the experiences you had with her, and she had with you, and ideally this helps/is part of your grieving process...it is hard though. So damn hard. My partner and I do our own little memorialization when a pet passes and it has helped a lot.
Still remember seeing this guy oh so many years ago in Greenstuff and plasticard ( dont recall the squire though ). We were all waiting for him to release, year after year. 'The next bret army book was coming for sure' afterall we allready got a taste of the minis,eh? Very happy that he actually released after so many years.
I got 2 boxes of them, 20 will be two-handed weapons and 20 will be sword and board. I'm looking forward to digging into these guys after my starter box is done!
Huh? I don't get what you are saying here. Are you suggesting the files are free? Or that I won't get them? Because I have them all as far as I can yell (haven't counted yet) and they are printing as promised so far. And while some free printable solutions do exist this one seems a lot better than what I've seen in that narrow space. If you just mean KS sucks then yes, it does. But occasionally, I'll risk it for what I consider lost cost risks.
Flexible triad means you can grab any 3 in the 6 next to each other and get a triad. Greenskin - Eternal Hunt - Wild Green for example. Eternal Hunt - Wild Green - Ferocious Green as another example. For stark contrast you could grab the darkest, mid tone, brightest and have a stark contrast triad.
I have learned a lot about this system in the week and half since I filmed it and yeah, it rocks. This is quickly becoming the best set of paints I have ever worked with. My review is going to be very positive as of now, but I have a few more things I want to do before I actually put that in stone (in gb?)
well i go FIST that bit dun well a big HUUMM this not thing i like to buy if got as gift i say thanks and yes paint and put togetth but i know i can do better hek GW had in white dwarf had a how to do tretch stuff you do out card placic or board and cant reneber witch ione is but thare but one thing i ues a lot of sprwew it self to mack other junk walls just my think on it
That is a very reasonable way to look at this piece. I could definitely make this cheaper, especially with a 3d printer (minus the cost of the machine haha) but basically I already had a few pieces from this set and I just wanted a bit more to make it bigger and still all look the same.
