Ive made parts that are currently orbiting earth on satellites. After that day, I never wanted to do another job. Machining is the only job ive ever had that I could go home and say I had fun today.
I think that unless you're part of the owners family... you will always be a number. a number that makes money for them. Just like buying a stock. Once you get what you want out of it... you sell it.
What a great attitude...has organizational perspective and will help out whereever needed, and be mindful of others. Can't really learn that in school. What a pro.
I'm currently at a very chilled position here at work, but there's a CNC operator opening here, and I'm really thinking about applying for it. But I'm afraid of stressful jobs, don't know it I should go for it. It's around 55k annually, plus OT. So you're looking at 75k +.
Dude goes water based coolant I been here 6months it’s still clean wait till you get that congiled glob out that coolant tank …..the thing is at control programing is dieing out and it makes me sad, at control programmers are the best of the best and mastercam cam only try to be, if your their looking at your part on a 3/4/5 axis and you try to program it thank you
I worked as an EmT as my first fulltime job but saw some things that I wish I hadn’t, my boss was an engineer ex cnc programmer so he got me interested in this.
this was really helpful. I'm moving to texas in the next week and I've got an entry level no-experience job there working as a CNC operator, and while I am not super happy about the possibility of extreme math being an every-day occurrence, the 35k a year + Overtime is really nice.
@@xocreme I was unfortunately fired from my job just a week ago due to various lies from my supervisor. :( But what I have learned while being there is unless you're going to one of those brand new state of the art CNC shops that look more professional than productive, expect to get paid much less than you're actually worth. We had people there for over 4 years working on CNC machines, being so good at their job that they were basically the only ones that knew how to do certain things, but they were getting paid considerably lower than what they are suppose to get paid (and they don't ask about it because I'm pretty sure 90% of them were illegal immigrants). But either way, just make sure if you're going into this, to make sure you know how capable you are and how much you know you should get paid because they will 100% downpay you if you don't say anything. Also if you've got no experience in CNC machining, don't expect to be put on a machine right off the bat. Every place is different, but I was asking for weeks to get training on a machine and they always turned me down, so idk.
@@Loner-DestroyedWomanI was basically being paid to sit around for 8 hours a day out of the 10 hour workload to do nothing. I would constantly ask for more work, but was always told I don't have the experience and they would never train me. Eventually it got down to the supervisor "finding" problems in the quality of my work despite doing literally what my boss always does. So I presume they didn't like how they were paying me to be there for 17/h when it's really a job worth 12/h
@@zeke7100those firm's are usually loaded with cash and have nice budget.. Sadly everywhere is so..if I don't ask more money, no-one will give it up.. Am from Eu , isn't 35k low in Usa? I Germany bottom is 35k ..and max 46k...
@@stolica1997 35k is like the typical wage that you have to make pretty much anywhere to afford to rent an apartment by yourself. Most apartments cost upwards of 1-1.5k a month even if it's a 1 bedroom or studio. I'm sure there are some states out there that have under 1k/month rent, but It's not in my budget or ability to move to yet another state, as right now I'm in montana.
I like this guy. He seems like a real proper person. I imagine MacKay is lucky to be involved with this guy. His ambition is very healthy. I hope he's being paid well, for his ambitions.
@@latinace1981 when you are taking trig for math base to some yes but the things you need to pull from trig to use for machinist no. It's easy formulas you use to get things done rbm them or just look them up when you need them
I want to learn more with cnc and wishing anybody with any parts or leath equipmant would donate to a semi begginer. My budgit is fairly low. Also any documentation on cnc ,milling, or leath equipment would be educational to me. Please help. Thanks
Angela McPherson - supposedly HR specialist? Every other word is um um um -ah ah ah. How did this uneducated person get a job there? Sounds extremely ignorant. Sad.
Iv been a cnc for about a year its gets more interesting the more time your on the machine i just dont know y the pays not higher for such a technical job?
Are you in a high production machining shop? Cuz most of the time cnc production shops are easy cuz it’s less of knowing the program fully, it’s just know a few offsets and how to change tools, factory work
Depends on the factory. If it’s a high production factory then your moving around all day, hard factory work. But if it’s a machining shop for special made parts and not high production yes it’s gets boring
@@evanjonez914Honestly that sounds like a big plus to me. My problem is i thought construction would be great for me until I realized I wasn’t eating properly and it took a heavy toll on my tiny frame. But I hate sitting. I can’t sit infront of a computer after my previous job in IT support. I have to move. I just don’t want to throw out my back lifting heavy things or risk falling down 6 stories without a harness because ”Ay, someone’s gotta do the job” I hate that. In spite of all of that horrible shit, and the dreadful days that came I went to work with a smile and left with a smile. I’m only 25 and I’ve done a lot of damage to my body. So I’m hoping to study this and working with this
@@seandipaul8257do it bro same reason i learned this stuff 😂 I come from construction and food factorys where they bust your ass and you come smelling like crap . CNC is a huge upgrade
@@HITTAGAME 4 months in to my education bro. The freedom and peace of mind is unlike I’ve ever felt. All that in 4 months of just looking at books. Shit I’m so privileged that I can only complain about how stiff my neck is getting and how my wrist cramps up which I know I can’t take for granted and I won’t even after getting my degree in CNC and robotics. I went from ”Ok this is my life, hard labour, anger, pain, waiting for my body to finally give up” to ”I’m so excited about the coming exam” The last couple of exams i couldn’t stop myself from being all giddy and jumpy and hyped up. Time flies when you’re having fun and enjoying what you do.
I went to school for a manual machinist. I always smelt like burnt oil, chips melted into the bottom of my boots and them flying into my shirts and constant metal slivers in my hands, lol. Going back to school because I know nothing about programming and CNC. Wis me luck. Keep up or get left behind I guess.
The worst job in the world.People inside the company won't give u respect and money for what u have done even if u produce 1000 jobs per day.Mechanical stream is getting very worst 😠
@@jemiahthesaiyanproductions3207 If you are really interested in working in cnc Field you may work as a CNC programmer if you are aware of VMC, HMC, VTL programming. But,if you join as a operator then they will suck your energy For their out.
I was an operator for a while, job was great, then the recession hit. I was unemployed for months, found out that a lot of shops around had closed, for some reason I never pursued it again.

My friends, I live in a country that marginalizes its youth. I am 27 years old. I have nothing in life. I do not have a family or a house. My father and mother divorced and abandoned me when I was a year old and I lived with my grandmother and died for years. I live without goals. My monthly wage is $ 100. I work in the CNC field. I have perfected AutoCAD 2008. I want one of you to help me find a job. Maybe I can forget the hell I live in. I hope you will help me find a work contract. I can find a job in CNC.
