0:52 To give you some tips and advice given to me by someone whom used to be really successful, before getting his own store up and running, selling at fairs and other events: The list goes from items I deem most to least important. *The golden rule is to draw people in, no matter what you do you can not create sales if you do not have foot traffic passing your stand. So anything and everything you can do to draw people in is an idea worth trying. *When displaying your work try to look for good lighting/orientation or in general a good setting and location to display your work. It might seem trivial but it is still often forgotten by those displaying their products/crafts/art for sale. *Display your craft; If you have the ability to display or demonstrate your craft it'll serve as a way to draw eyes and foot traffic towards you. Once you have a small crowd other people will follow out of interest. In your case I would suggest taking some empty aquariums/jars/tanks, and the other necessary materials, with you to work on some displays through out the exhibition/fair. -> If you have the opportunity to loop your youtube videos and pictures of your work on display this might keep people around for a lot longer. *Try to limit clutter and keep your displayed items to a minimum. Paralysis of choice is a thing. *Allow people, especially children, to partake in your craft. Set up as many opportunities as your resources and manpower allow for people to get a small taste of what it is you do. Not only will it spark an interest in your craft, if you have the ability to sell base material, it might in turn net you some sales. *Sell basic kits and/or materials. Sometimes individuals find it difficult to get started with something and accumulate the necessary materials to get started. Having a basic kit to sell often gives people an avenue into your world that sets them up. These are the basic ones I could think off, there are a lot more but I hope this helps you be slightly more successful at your upcoming events.
