Cheers Stephen. I tend not to put weights on Social stuff, the **it it causes. Needless to say I'm a big lad and it looks small in my hands. It is a cracking stretch, allsorts in there
@@jamiesanglingchannel they all count big little fat skinny they all count As anglers I sometimes think we become obsessed by weight But I am glad to catch fish In the 80s 90s I became obsessed with carp angling this bait that special hook flurocarbon braids critically balanced rigs If it was under twenty pound it was looked down upon and it all takes the fun out of fishing I still have a go for the carp now and again on my local canal and the buzz is back I don't have to book I am not limited for time No bait bans No assholes my rods better than your rod You need this that and the other or you can't catch carp ffs the tackle companies love us anglers I love nothing better than just my lure rod couple of lures unhooking mate and net I find it exiting Out for a couple of hours good walk and if I'm lucky a couple of fish don't care how big the are as long as they pull my string Even better when you see a fish hit the lure Wow bang what a buzz That's what it's all about for me
Hi just a quick question about yourself Hollinrake is not a common name, i knew some Hollinrake,s that lived on Thornbank drive in Catterall nr Garstang back in the 70/80s there was a Dave and a Steve i think ? i think Dave did a bit of fishing with our neghbour at the time Allan Billington ? if my memory serves me well they lived near a family called Maxwell ? Dave was a bit older than me and i was chatting to some one who lived on thornbank drive a few month ago and the name Hiooinrake was mentioned would you be any relation here ??
Hi Jamie, its been a few year since i was last on the Ribble at Balderstone for the barbel under the Warrington Ticket, that stretch you were on looks nice where is it near to as i wouldnt mind a day after the silvers with a chance of a Grayling. Cheers Tight lines Andy
Had my first double figure barbel from that swim, fished a small bomb with double caster on the edge of the current , had smaller barbel around the 4lb and 6lb mark and had knocks all session
I fished here many times bout 20yrs ago now..caught some massive barbel my best a 14lb.which I still have a pic on my wall. Also caught some lovely barbel under bridge swim. Gonna make a visit again soon. River canal and lake there
Hi, I'm getting into fly fishing and was considering fishing the river ribble. Do you just need a rod licence and a day ticket? Plus where would you recommend fishing? Cheers!
Hi Karl, you'll need the licence and ticket. I'm not a fly fisherman, so can't tell you wheres best, but would suggest the higher reaches for trout and grayling
Nice Video Jamie, I'm planning but first trip up to Collingham in March, were you fishing on the stretch (Collingham A A ) that runs all the way from Cromwell weir? Also can to take your car along the bank if it safe?
Last time I went I didn't get a bite, and had a big dog otter swim thru my swim. If you want to fish in nice surroundings, peace & quiet with a chance of a PB its well worth it
Paul Hutchinson Not too bad, the second day was a struggle, I had one screaming run at 3.30am and when I picked the rod up missed it - it nicked the boilie though! Jamie lost 2 zander in the margin and I lost one myself.
