Okay so I know this video is kind of old, but I had to comment because I actually recognize the single cleat and the hat- they belong to a softball outfit! My mom got it for me because I played and loved softball so much when I got my AG mini me doll in 2011/12! I still have the full outfit!! Too sentimental to sell it though, sorry 😅 The bat is probably from the corresponding accessory set (and yes, the end looks unfortunately broken, but nothing some diy can’t help repair)
The lime green set is actually a pair of PJs 😆 and if you’re looking for a ginger haired doll with brown eyes that’s 35! I just sold a 35 last week, they’re adorable. I had to downsize a bit as I have over 70 dolls
I loved watching this! I’ve been professionally restoring vintage dolls for many years and the 80’s and 90’s Barbie dolls are so fun. Just a small tip: Vintage Barbie hair from the 80’s and 90’s is Kanekelon, modern doll hair is Saran or PVDC. Kanekelon is a type of nylon based plastic, and is extremely durable to heat. If you restore vintage 80’s and 90’s doll hair, the easiest way to de-mat and smooth it, is to put hot water from a kettle into a bowl and add in liquid dish soap and fabric softener. Soak the dolls head in the mixture for five minutes and let the heat soften the fibers, don’t worry it will not melt the doll or damage the hair. You want to gently use a doll hair brush or baby comb on the hair while it’s hot. The heat is what actually softens the wirey damaged hair and the soaps do very little other than clean and condition to brighten the color of the fibers. The hot water automatically softens and untangles the hair to some degree and kind of resets it to factory shape, so you don’t have to brush it as much or as harshly. The only downside to this method is that it will straighten curly hair. Use pipe cleaners as hair curlers and while the hair is wrapped in the pipe cleaners, dip it in a new batch of hot water to force the fibers to permanently set by heat to that shape, and let it dry. :)
To avoid losing a lot of hair, soak the doll in bowl full with 3 tablespoons of fabric softener and let the hair soak for 10 minutes or even 1 hour until the hair feels soft 😊 try it next time 😊
Hello, Thankyou so much for sharing ure video, i love it . i altso collec dolls, just have a few yet, and now im thinkig so much of bying new geration dolls they look awsome
I love our generation and I would love to see more videos like this. I feel like they don't get enough credit in the ag community and it's a really great option for people who can't afford to buy directly from American Girl all the time (Like me haha).
I wonder where the other shoes are 🤨 did they keep one shoe from each pair? If you cut the Celebrate the Day shirt into a crop top at the sharpie line, that could be a vibe!
The little Us are from when AG did "Inner Star University" it was some time between 2010 to 2014 ish if I remember right. They did a lot of university themed clothes and sets for the truly me dolls, including an online game.
The shoe situation is classic. It's almost comical but so frustrating. Maybe if you reach out to the person who sold you the lot, they can sell you shoe mates if they find them. Another idea would be to sell the single shoes and then use that money to buy some pairs.
The pink crinkly wrap skirt is a ballet skirt, not a styling cape. It goes with GOTY Marisol’s ballet practice outfit. 😊 The U stands for Innerstar University - the online virtual world AG had in the early 2010s for girls to play on (think Webkinz). Each doll outfit could be “bought” virtually as well.
I’m falling down the rabbit hole of AG myself. I already bought a lot from eBay of 3 dolls yesterday. Then my mother sent me the link to 3 more on Facebook marketplace this morning. So I’m going to have my work cut out for me. I won’t be keeping these, I’m fine with the two I already have. Will definitely sell these ones that are coming. I might keep one of them because she’s Kanani and I’ve never seen one in person.
I got around 30 brand new in boxes ag outfits, accessories, shoes, and dogs at a goodwill store for each around 1.99 each! I immediately bought them for myself.
I remember when i was young I went to an american girl doll store a state away from me and i loved it! I got an american girl baby (that my daughter now owns), and a puppy doll accessory with a bone that was a magnet that would stick to the dogs mouth. I had a huge collection, but i dont know what happened to it:(
