The time has come to drop everything and go off and see what the world has to offer!? Unfortunate circumstance has given me the chance to do some exploring, find some adventure, eat some good food, meet some people and see some some sights that I've only read and daydreamed about and watched other peoples adventures! Although I have the word navigator in my title name my sense of direction isn't my strongest attribute. So we will see what happens alone the way! Lets get navigating...
Jim Sim...if you want to read an accurate account of kernel TOOMEY read the book..the kernel of thamakam .. when you have finished you will never feel hard done by again ...
Thanks man. I appreciate it and I hope you enjoy it. From what I'm told and see in then and now pictures its changed so much even in the last 10 years.
I would say the sun got the better of me but it was 2am here when the game was on. I genuinely made the effort to be disappointed yet again...Oh well theres always next time.
It was from 3pm that day. I couldn't make head nor tail why the 60 day visa started at 3pm? I probably could have done with some of that yaba for the way back.
I tried that, payed an agent on Samui, got 30 days, came to renew before 30 days expired, Immigration pulled me in, all visa stamps including Malaysia FORGERIES.
The sniffanator 😅 seems like a massive scam all the visa stuff , still is what it is dude, kinda pointless but it's all about money 💰 as we all know ...these asylum seekers in england don't have that problem 😅
I have been in Thailand for almost 28 years. Every year in winter for 4 months. 17 of those years in Kanchanaburi City. Since last year I have been living here permanently, having emigrated from my original homeland. I live not far from the famous bridge, 500 meters from the banks of the River Kwai. Even after such a long time, I still get a strange feeling when I am at my bridge or on the trail of the Japanese. Despite the famous bridge and the Death Route, Kanchanaburi is not very touristy. Bad for the Thais, good for me.... My wife (no, not Thai...) and I live a nice and good life here, even though the unspeakable past of the Japanese cruelty is omnipresent. Hitler was a real scumbag, no question about it. But he was a small number compared to what the Japanese did here (and everywhere during the war)....
I went to Kanchanaburi myself pal off the back of your review & having a beer with you in Siem Reap one eve. Absolutely glad I decided to as it was a wonderful experience, 3 nights on an epic journey & as you say by far the best destination to step back in time to see the sacrifices those brave men made in WW2. Thanks pal & as always stay safe brother. Mitch
Mate, Good to see you have found a way to freelance around the world! Iconic review, although I was disappointed I didn't see a local girl suddenly appear in shot with scorecards . Stay safe pal Mitch (Dude you met in Siem Reip & shared a few tales/beers)
I went July 2017 and it was roasting hot, I couldn’t hack the tunnels either. Great experience though and really interesting to hear and see how innovative the Vietnamese were. How’s the trip going, is it meeting your expectations so far? What are your future plans? Would like to see more videos of your adventures.
Very cool...lots of highrise buildings going up i was surprised ...maybe that guy fishing with the crash hat on was protecting himself from flying fish 😅
@@BrendantheNavigator77 I’m happily alone for over decade in a quiet area but recently I’m having a hard time getting up on time for work. I would welcome the early wake up call. On the positive side, I think it would be nice to know who in your neighborhood passed on and pay some respect or celebrate (kidding).
Weary Dunlop the Australian surgeon operated without anesthetic more often than not (Little or none was available) He often suffered beatings from the Japanese just because he was the tallest around, he stood well over 6ft and dwarfed some of the guards.
The Park I think is not aswell know as the others around it however its essential to see because it tell more of the story of what they went through. The bravest of men.
Thank you. glad your enjoying them. My advise is just do it. If its the right time in life and you have some pocket cash then go and dont look back. You'll love it! :) I will see you on the road somewhere.
