I ride super dry rocky and loose over hard stuff, almost always run exo DC dhf/aggressor or exo EC dissector/forekaster. Tried kyrptotal trail/endurance front and rear, was not impressed and front felt more squirrely and less hooked in than the dhf. I still have my trail/endurance xynotal, so I'll have to pick up a enduro/soft kryptotal and see if i can like this tire.

Where to start. I read the reviews and months ago bought a Kryptotal for the rear of my Trek Rail. I'm an old fart and still like to run tubes - and run 30 psi to minimise punctures. For the life of me I couldn't fit the Kryptotal to my Bontrager rim so I took it to my Trek bikeshop and watched as two guys stretched themselves and the tyres to mount it. Rode with the tyre and really liked it (it rides firm but weight not an issue given the ebike) but I eventually recognised if I got a flat kilometres from home I don't have 4 hands to be able to change the tube off and on, so I bought Maxxis DHR II. I really like Maxis as reliable and easy to fit. In the mean time I bought myself some Industry Nine wheels to move away from the issues of Bontrager wheels (which independent bike shops would tell me about too). I recently wore the rear Maxxis out of tread and the rear was locking up and sliding more than I usually enjoy, so swapped the Kryptotal in. Took no time at all to fit to the Industry Nine - going straight on!! First ride today with the Kryptotal on the back and I couldn't believe just how much grip I had leaning the bike over through twisty single track, and going downhill I just can't tell you how much faster these things roll than the excellent Maxis DHR II. Great review which pretty much sums up everything I experienced today.

I wanted to love the Continental tires but I slashed two tires with the Enduro casing on XC trails in the first four rides that EXO casing I've run for an entire year. The Continental were good for what they are and I was going to keep them but I didn't want to spend even more money in the hopes they wouldn't cut yet again. @dustinbjohnson yeah it was crazy I've always run EXO front and EXO+ rear never cut a single tire. I put Trail casing front and enduro rear. Cut the rear on a tech trail so I assumed I was running to low of pressure at 24 psi (185lbs kitted) so went with another enduro and went to 26psi. Cut it two rides later on a fast XC down section just wide open over roots and light gravel.

Had this happen to me first time today, third day on a new bike which has a half-worn assegai. Good wheel but also boring, the constant grip with no bite point feels more dead. Also love love love the DHF/dhr in maxxgrip, it bites!! If you can ride even half proper you prefer the dhf in my books. Even if the assegai didn't slide out. Dhf is surgical and a bot more drifty in the best way possible.

Magura MT/ with the HC3 lever is the best mountainbike brake I have ever used. I run a 200mm disc front and rear and having the option to fine tune how much modulation I have in the brakes is a game changer. massive power with control and with the race compound just never starts fading. a friend of mine runs the sport compound in his pads and they start fading after a long decent but my pands just seem to find more and more performance the more heat I give to them. I couldn't be happier and I have a feeling that I will never run any other brakes because of how awezome these are

@juanhidalgo7043 Месяц назад
Have you tried the shimano saint? For the new sram maven, let me tell you, they have tons of power. I bleed the sram code and they have little modulation and they are very close to shimano XTR. Just remember the sram maven are not compatible with shimano xt and Xtr rotors. I have not tried magura, trp, etc. I don’t need to. I feel riders get hung up on lots of brakes choices. Like a boy going to a candy store. For me, I have been using shimano xtr for 12+ years and no complaint. They work and why change. The sram code came on one bike and they are 2 years old. No complaint. Look, a good rider will adjust to bike, brakes, tires. If you are a rider (with a United stated cycling federation license) and competing I can understand been picky. When I was racing read my pinarello bike was dialed with shimano dura ace, conti tires, enve 4.5 wheels, etc. anyhow, like a said don’t get hang up on bike components unless you are a semi or pro rider.

Other obstacles because of the side wall strength. I weigh a 150 pounds. I wish there was a test on these tires. Showing different air pressures On different terrain VS rolling speed. I'm 71 so I look for anything I can get. By the way, I love your passion.
