Covering 4,500 acres on the banks of the River Tees in the North East of England, Teesworks is Europe’s largest brownfield site, home to diverse, sustainable and low-carbon activity.
GREAT NEWS. Just hope they are talking about steel required for the modern world and not the 1950's ? Steel is not just a "one size fits all" product. Thats why the first steel mills in Teesside closed down. You dont use the same steel to make Baked Band tins and Airplanes for example. One is more sophisticated than the other and requires very different ( and much more expensive ) technology. Guess which one we are likely to adopt........and find its out of date AGAIN in 20yrs time ?
I remember when that plant was running and something was going on in the building and this huge red cloud of dust and smoke came out. Not sure if it was part of the process but it was an impressive amount of smoke and dust.
You would think Teesworks would know and adhere to UK drone laws. No NOTAMS in place on this day, and only one registered and authorised flight by the CAA….. mine.
SHOULD HAVE BEEN SPRAYED WITH WATHER. TO CONTIAN TOXIC DUST INTO AIR AND WATER ETC ETC ETC. COOL DEMO. WAS THE COST OF CHARGES LESS THE TWO GUYS AND A TORCH. THEN SALVAGE AND RECYCLE NON TWISTED STEEL, ETC ETC. NOPE TAKE IT DOWN NOW, HOMER SAID...COoL VIDEO..
Dust on the roof has more air resistance when falling. So dust falls slower, appearing to go upwards relative to the roof. I guess the dust is mostly iron oxide (rust).
The dust cloud is horrendous and potentially poses toxic issues in these demolitions. Elf 'n Safety needs to consider containment of these clouds with perhaps some form of giant Hoover machines sucking up the dust.
Long live the steelworks im from grangetown and was a cleaner at the boss plant for 15 and half years loved every minute of it ❤ going to be a sad day when boss plant goes 😢 💔 😞 😔
I worked there on security was a great place to work untill teesworks started to take control of everything when I moved over to northeast security was great like I said teesworks controlled everything that's why I left to work for a real great company 👍 hate teesworks anyone who works for them leave there nothing but thief's there made there millions and now there will leave soon hate them 8
It’s going to be a very expensive future for our energy needs now, while we had Coal and Coke we could make affordable Electricity and Steel. What folly.
and plus, what is the point cleaning up our act when countries like Russia and china aren't going to. its a complete scam how Britain in general has the right technology to capture carbon as was put into action at my local power station Longannet about 12 years ago. but the most fraudulent party the SNP demolished it in a bid to 'crack down on co2' apart from the fact that there was no carbon for them to crack down on seeing as it was all captured carbon and no dust particles polluting the atmosphere, hence was a minimal contributor to carbon emissions. they had this tech all over the UK but of course, our government is willing to hurt our financial status in order for them to get more money for themselves, cheap electricity for them, expensive for us. not saying this is a personal complaint to the SNP, but what a shambles, they should be ashamed of themselves for closing Longannet and all the other power sations around Scotland. no wonder we are struggling to get imported energy. and just like i said in the 24th march 2016, Scotland will regret the day they closed their power stations.
Aarr yes ‘Redcar sinter’ as it once said on the side of the building, where is this country going under this Government?, lost jobs no industry to speak of, demolishing works and plants that we need in crisis (like now).it’s the 1980’s again under Thatcher only worse!. I bet all the men and women who worked at Lackenby and Redcar and south bank haven’t found new jobs yet. Tory Britain, no thanks, we can’t afford you.
