I was taught not to do the pitri offering and always had questions my whole life . But prabhu this is the first time that it was explained perfectly...hare Krishna. Thank you...
Actually, Srila Prabhupada is 100% available 24/7 in his vani and vapu forms. In a letter dated Dec. 14, 1972, Srila Prabhupada wrote, “Next you ask if I am present in my picture and form? Yes. In form as well as in teachings.” And on Sept. 4, 1972, he wrote, “There is no difference between me and my picture”
❤ feeling so thankful for hearing this discourse, as a western born person, my only shelter is the Holy Name of Sri Radha Krsna, chanted in full surrender with great love and humbleness. In my ignorance ,this is all i can offer. Thankyou for the encouraging words at the end. I felt hopeless, until i heard your closing remarks. 😢 Thankyou.
Every year many people around the world performed Pitra paksha. How many knows how this works.. I've heard many stories from family members saying what they know from their grand parents. Today I've learned the right arrangements , how the offering truly goes to the ancestors. I'm a krishna bhaktin. I'm really humbled and feels the mercy of Radhey Shyam all around. Hare krsna 🙏
I AM VERY VERY SHOCKED THAT ISCON IS TALKING ABOUT PITRU PAKSHA BECAUSE WHEN I WAS TRYING TO DO THE PITRU PAKSHA IN MAYAPUR ON THE SHORES OF MOTHER GANGA A MONK OF THE ISCON GROUP SAID THAT WE DON'T BLEAVE IN THIS AND TO MAKE IT WORST HE TOLD ME NOT TO DO IT, WHICH ACTUALLY HURT ME A LOT, SORRY IF AM RUDE. THE ALMIGHTY LORD KRISHNA BE WITH YOU ALWAYS.
We are very sorry to hear that you were hurt by a comment made by a follower of ISKCON. The final understanding and clarity in ISKCON is provided by our Founder-Acharya, Srila Prabhupada. Following in the footsteps of great Vaishnava acharyas, Srila Prabhupada has offered transcendental Vedic clarity on all aspects of life to help one advance in spiritual understanding. According to his teachings, based on the Srimad Bhagavatam, we are indebted to various personalities, including the Devatas and other living entities. However, we are exempted from these debts when we engage in the loving service of Lord Krishna, taking complete shelter of Him and dedicating our lives to His mission. This is the conclusion of Srimad Bhagavatam, 11th Canto. It is possible that the devotee was trying to convey that, as followers of Srila Prabhupada who are engaged in the Lord’s service, they may be considered exempt from these debts. However, this exemption does not apply to everyone; it is not a matter of belief but an injunction of the scriptures that duty and gratitude must be developed until one reaches the point of love for God and takes complete shelter of Lord Krishna. Regarding the comments made while you were performing the Shraddha ceremony on the bank of the Ganga, the devotee could have exercised more care with their choice of words and clarity in expressing their point. We sincerely apologize for any hurt feelings caused by this misunderstanding. Thank you for your understanding.
So the conclusion is to perform sankirtana yagna by chanting hare krishna maha mantra, reading Bhagavad Gita and as per ones capability, perform devotional service at the lotus feet of the lord. This will clear all 5 kinds of debts thus completeling our pitru paksha offerings. Feeling deep gratitude and love towards my Pitarah who inspired me to click on this video to watch it.
