What a great video! And such beautiful boats! I have so many questions. What design were they? Were the umbrella tied to topping lifts? I suspect this was filmed somewhere in North America - where were you? Such a beautiful part of the world! Thanks so much for putting this together.
In last slide from left to right: A Bill Garden Tom Cat, Coquina, Sooty Tern (my boat), Marsh Cat and Ilur. On my boat I hang the umbrella from the halyard and position with line from handle. Works quite well. Maryland, USA. Thanks!
The Mrs immediately loved the music. She didn't mind my replaying it, again, and again - now the song is stuck in my head! Well done all the way around. Thx
@@LingeringLunacy i think its an old IRC design from the late 70's. Pretty lines. Head sail driven which is not great for short handing. Never heard of an NY40!
I've watched all your videos. I love small boat sailing and sail alone all the time in my home waters as no one else has a small boat like mine. I'm envious of the camaraderie I see in the area where you sail. Keep it up
@@LingeringLunacy Usually latter half of July and early August. It's when the weather and the wind settle out . The west coast of the island has better weather. Notre Dame Bay and Bonavista Bay are in my opinion the best places for sailing. Both are on the northeast coast.
@LingeringLunacy thank you, she is lovely...we are on the Northern Bay and starting to gather like minded folks for a bit of sailboat camping North of Eastern Bay... Thanks for the inspiration....
Winds must be steady & a big trust in the person at the helm to be lying down on the windward side reading...doggy on the floorboards. But SO relaxing!
Wonderful to see you and your friends sailing in Maine on small boats. You captured the essence of all that is good along with some fine sounds. Keep it up!
99% of the time I find music annoying in these videos but yours was great. I still miss the sound of water on your hull though. Nice boats you have there.
