Have been interested in Mongolia for many years - so I thank you for these videos - I’m reminded of my rural farm upbringing when we had an outhouse and no central heating or hot water heater
Just found to watch and wondered how she is been living now. The place she is staying Arkhangai is one of the beautiful areas in Mongolia. Thank you for your contribution to Mongolia. I admire your dedication and courage to live there alone/ I mean not many foreigners there, I guess,/
Wonderful, it's always great to see videos about yurts and yurt living :) We also plan and manufacture mobile yurts suitable for winter, of the highest quality. Handcrafted and individually according to customer requirements. Greetings from Austria :)
You should make (have made) and upload(ed) more videos about life as a PCV and anything interesting . . . or better yet, ask your (former) students to make and submit vids -- in English -- to you to upload on this channel.
I left Mongolia in March before they closed the airport. I have shared some of my experiences during those brief early months in my other social media instagram: Latinx_PCV
I can tell you, super boring. Near me in Unesco Street, the only place open yesterday was the coffin shop, so I could buy a coffin but not the cigarettes that will probably put me in it. kkk
It's really unfortunate to be sent to Mongolia! Hopefully you gonna be rewarded good enough for all your suffering. A big thank you to all volunteers for helping my country! 👍👍👍✌✌✌👌👌👌

This is an informative video that you ladies have successfully assembled for those of us interested in the subject. Thanks for making this video. It's remarkable to think that the Mongolian Empire was a major global superpower in the 13th and 14th centuries yet today it's like a second or third world country basically, is it not? Although the Mongolians beat up the Song dynasty, and defeated Northern China rather quickly by comparison, their fighting prowess doesn't outmatch the might of Chinese innovations and sophistication. Thus China is now more developed than Mongolia is today, would be part of what I'm saying, but key to understanding this is, I think, the merit of the Chinese scientific pursuits, scholastics, Confucianism, industrialism, etc. The strength of the Chinese mind eventually outpaced the cavalry-based military strength of the Mongols (and their slaves and mercenaries from foreign nations). As an American, I'm speculating much of Mongolia is rural and underdeveloped based on what I'm observing about zero plumbing or electrical outlets. Am I wrong? The natural resources in Mongolia are also an area of interest for me personally, and I will do some research tomorrow to learn more about this. Yeah, what a fascinating country with some profoundly badass historical achievements, you know? I would love to visit Mongolia someday, but perhaps not live there. Yurts are, from a geometric and thermal-dynamic point of view, a genius domestic living space. The circle layout retains heat quite efficiently. Thanks for the video though, truly! Congratulations on one-hundred and twenty subscribers !
damn simplistic karen-type generalization on entire nation. ever heard of imperialism? geopolitical influence zone? mass production consumer society and its systems, sometimes called as capitalism or communism? harsh climate and not futile soil?
Sri Lanka is my country. What happened today (26-03-2020) Sri Lanka has extended its nationwide curfew to combat the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic. Today the country’s situation with lockdown so that I am appreciate their simple life.

So, are you there as an English teacher for the community, or do you have other tasks you (peace corps) provide for that village? And what breed of dog?
The “aqua” toothpaste has mouthwash with alcohol in it, the alcohol is why it requires a colder temperature to freeze. I’m thinking an electric blanket would be wonderful. Have fun!
These ignorant people always call Tsagaan Sar as Chinese New Year, it's Asian Lunar New Year, goddamn it. Chinese celebrate it just like any other Asians, we Asians not celebrating Chinese new year, but these thick headed Americans and Europeans never get it.
@@nemesisvsbrad Probably you are not Mongolian. Mongolian people don't speak as rude as you. Though you was right about the Lunar Calendar, it's not Chinese.
