@Em6726 0 seconds ago Wasnt impressed by the new flip open feature of the 4.0 The 3.0 w the rotoblock is the cats meow. Unfortunately theyre now no where to be found. Dpx should offer all of their models as well as the parts.
I am thinking about the 4.0, but is it worth the higher price tag? The until recently the Leggaro models were running close to $300 and I didn't want to spend that, but now that the 4.0 has a flipper tab I am really interested. I traded the HEST 3.0 to a friend because no matter how I held it my finger(s) would put pressure on the framelock keeping it from smoothly deploying. I thought to myself only if they would put a flipper tab on a HEST model lol.
Thanks for reaching out! Is it worth the higher price tag in comparison to what? The issue with putting pressure on the lock bar will always be a concern, this is where ergos play, where the design forces you to put your hands. My hands are L-XL Mechanix glove size and I didn't have an issue of accidentally applying pressure to that lock, but I always make a conscious effort to not do that. I think if you land the 4.0, you'd be happy with it. Its a functional workhorse that's fun to use, looks great, and feels even better. Plus if you get it and aren't thrilled out of the box, you can always send it back (unused).
@WayofKnifeEdcGearHouse The price compared to what I paid for my original HEST models. The cost for knives have jumped up considerably over the last few years. Example is I bought a ZT 0562CF when it first came out for $180 now the same model is close to $300. The HEST 4.0 is also close to $300. That's a chunk of change to someone who pays support on two kids lol.
@@ajward4299 Definitely feel you there. Most American makers and mfgs mark up each year with the cost of living, which is what drives the interest to overseas made knives. Quality is still there, but yea USA knives are spendy now. We're firm believers in getting what you pay for, but each maker brings something new to the table. It comes down to worth, and that dollar amount ranges person to person.
A LOT better. DPX has always been one brand I've always loved, but the action was never great, always functional, but not always great. Whatever changes were done to this was for the better, great lil guy to throw in rotation.
Hey Rich! Thanks for showing interest in our work! We did this build for a customer in Australia I believe, but if you want to contact us via message, email, or through our site we can absolutely do something similar on a piece you have already, or one from us (which grants you 30% off the mod work!) so either way works for us. Talk soon!
I promise you, youl'll love it. We have a few here in shop and we cant recommend those to our walk in customers enough. Let us know when you're ready, and we'll help ya every step of the way!
Oh man, nice is an understatement with these. The Scout is a gorgeous knife and the action is stellar. Love the addition to this model with the titanium clip and subtle milling lines
@@WayofKnifeEdcGearHouse Absolutely I've been eyeing one of these for abit now . All I heard so far has been positive feedback it is on the short list for next months buys 👍
@@WayofKnifeEdcGearHouse Yes it does my brother . Hey I bought a Benchmade auto Immunity I have a few issues with it # 1 the edge it came from the factory so dull it wouldn't cut paper and also the clip is a big hot spot and held in place with dome head screws . I'd like too ask you is it big enough for you too Alacarte it ? I know when a customer says too me do what you do it makes me feel good right !? Please let me know if you can work with this knife for me Thanks .
@@craigm2484 Hey Craig, we can definitely help that edge out, but relocating your clip might be a tough task, shoot us an email or contact us via the site and we'll get you situated.
@@WayofKnifeEdcGearHouse Awesome I will check it out over the weekend I would not be opposed to a different clip . You will laugh at this edge like I said I felt it and said wow where is the edge ? I tried to cut paper and the paper laughed at me for trying ! I threw it back in its pouch and into my draw so it is a shame for a factory to flaw like that ! Looking forward to getting some work done by you Thank You !
