These fork inlets are made by Hawg Halters aka HHI which are used in conjunction with their raked triple trees. Raked trees and shortened forks are necessary when doing lay-frame swing arm setups. HHI trees allow the forks to screw in from below, hence, a side air inlet is required for air ride. If you are running front air ride without lay-frame, then a rake is not needed and the inlets will be located on top. These inlets are included in the Air FX Air suspension kit. Ethanol fuel is the culprit of clogging carburetors due to gumming up as well as absorbing moisture into fuel tanks resulting in rust. These fuel tank liners will prevent ethanol fuel from ever causing rust to form. If fuel is sitting inside your tank for more than 3 weeks, I suggest using a fuel additive like STA-BIL or non ethanol fuel to prevent coagulation.
What they don’t tell you is, the fender is injection molded fiberglass. When I was prepping the fender, wet sanding down pin holes kept appearing. We had to use filler as an extra step….🙄 Not good!!
Anytime I paint fiberglass I always begin sanding with 120 grit, spray a 2K primer, block sand with 400 grit, and spray an epoxy sealer before ever spraying pigment. The 2k primer step fills any pinholes without any need for body filler.
To make a perfect cut on the handlebar you take a ruler or tape measure from the end of the bar, measure in 4.5 inches and make a multiple reference marks around the circumference of the bar. Wrap a piece of tape around the bar to reference your cut line. Secure your handle so it doesn’t move during your cut. I used 3/8th - 7/16th drill hole
If you are talking about a clutch cable through the bars? No,too many turns. The hydraulic conversion isn’t that difficult. I’ll post a link to the part list on Monday
That’s a good question, and my answer would be loctite is not necessary as the internal throttle on my chopper hasn’t had any loosening issues and it’s been over 7 years since that install. If you do decide to use loctite, use blue and an extremely small amount. The Allen head set screw is very small and loctite can result in stripping that set screw in the event you ever need to service the throttle line.
I want my air ride for looks along with the Fat front tire (2019 Street Glide Special). How much should you raise you bike for normal riding conditions?
Best riding position 30%-70% internal air pressure inside the air shock. 100% air shock pressure results in a spring like ride; very bouncy. 0% air shock pressure results in a rigid ride; no suspension. Air FX air suspensions are all equipped with rebound controls which allow the rider to stiffen or soften their ride comfort specifications.
Absolutely, remove your check valve or petcock and protect your threads with tape. You will remove ALL of your internal components; pump, hoses, pressure regulator, and hardware before stripping the inside of your fuel tank. Sanding and scouring the inside of the fuel tank is the key step to allow the epoxy liner to bond properly.
I did a lot of research before going with this wheel. It’s a solid 6061 aluminum wheel 100% CNC’d right here in California, USA. Sure you can get a set of DNA spoke wheels like everyone else for a fraction of the cost, but life’s too short to follow in the footsteps of others.

The Harley Davidson Softail is a great bike for all heights of people. In my opinion, different model motorcycles are like different tools in a toolbox, they all serve a particular riding purpose. Handlebars, wheels, suspension, and motor work can all change a bike to best suit the rider.
I love my softail, but I hate wearing a back pack when riding since I have no cargo space. I also like that I can finally have a good audio system with the bags.
I would love it if my Street Glide were a softail. I would definitely convert it into a bagger. Why doesn't Harley make softail baggers? My understanding is that the softail suspension setup is much more solid than the dyna-style dual shock setup.
Nice job, now that’s what makes me jealous of you cats that ride Harleys so many custom parts you can buy and bolt on to customize your bike, but I still love my metric cruiser
Quality parts are never cheap, not to mention the labor involved. We have our LEDs made with higher Lumens and also provide a lifetime warranty on our lights.
