Do all the makeup items have to be brand new? I want to use the makeup I already own and just use a popsicle stick to place on the palette? Or should I buy all new? I have my practical in 6 days 😅
Ok, so first I want to thank you so much for video it gave me a good base of what I need to know for the exam I know your video was 2 years ago so since I just took the test today I want to give a heads up on a couple things I needed but wasn’t aware because it wasn’t even in the supply list biohazard bag, and makeup drape and and how to do a mummy mask totally caught me. I’m praying I passed because my instructor was giving me directions of what to do but since she didn’t say to map the brow I didn’t but I’m sure I should have anyway and I forgot to put the eye pads for the extractions I was so nervous as she watched me.
This exam looks so easy compared to the cosmetology exam I took in California. In hindsight, I would have just taken aesthetician course. Doing hair is not as interesting or lucrative, unless you are gifted in that area. Thank you for this instructional video and your mannequins makeup looked great!!

Have you looked in your portal where you signed up for the exam? I believe mine showed up on the department of licensing website in my portal. Very odd to have not received the results it’s been so long!

Do you remember any of the questions like being wierd with the contouring like if you shade the outer corner or sides of the Cheek and jawline does it look a. Slimmer b. Wider? 😂 I ask because I did a practice test and had that wierd question and about hues of eyes and shape
Aren’t you also supposed to spray the pencils with alcohol and wipe with tissue as well as sharpening before and after using them? That’s what they taught us in school. I’m located in Long Island NY. They made a big deal out of that step too. And also don’t you have to sanitize your hands every single time you throw something in the garbage? Was anyone else taught these steps in school?
I believe you Gus out there are just wayyy more strict . But just do what you were taught! Just remember those key things that wasn’t taught in this video.
Did you move the head maniquin during makeup, or you stand up in front of it. Idk what to do with my body position to perform a makeup in a lie down model 😢
Thanks so much for this , i watched your video a lot and passed my NYS practical , although they did ask me to do a skin analysis and mummy mask which i didn’t know and we had to bring a blood contamination container which i didn’t bring as well :( but im glad i passed
