Saw this exact show line up in Boston in 1979 when the LP came out they did the same opening and then played the LP then their hits Front Row Balcony such perfection in the music.
Thanks for this. ❤ I had this vinyl 12" as well as others in a vast collection, until my ex dumped my whole collection at the tip/dump for no reason but for pure spite.
The Human League is one of the best bands from the 80s era. I love Phil Oakey he is so talented and has a voice like no other. This mix is legendary. Those synthesisers are iconic. Great UK band.❤❤❤
Subbed, because of that fade in to Love Action, brings back so many happy memories of my crazy nights in Nottm, back in the day... Remember them so vividly.. Wow.. lol. Pmsl.
I completely agree. Since it wasn’t a hit, it is to long to play at concerts, and it’s hard on Bryan’s voice. Heard it from with my own ears, All the Roxy men were amazing to meet maybe 24 years ago, friends it felt like yesterday.
Love action is such a badass tune its from 1981 just as the disco era was finishing up but could easily have been a hit on the dance floors in the 70s disco clubs xxx
Fantastic record, that makes you feel great. First time I heard it was watching an episode of Bergerac one Sunday night back in 1982. He was looking for a criminal in a Night Club, and I couldn't believe this incredible sound, and I had no idea it was by the Human League. I soon purchased it.
Probably the most unique British band that we have ever had.. And coupled with one of the strangest front lead vocalists who exudes his own unique charisma
I saw this show in Toronto at Massey Hall. Same opening. He staggered from Stage Right after that bass opening in that red suit. I have seen perhaps 1000 concerts and this was one of the best. Band was firing on all cylinders. I will see them when they play this year.
I can still remember the holy shit delight of Phil showing up on Top Of The Pops (Thursday night I think) with that asymetrical haircut and lipstick FFS, the complaints line must have been red hot. I have nothing but good memories of them. I used to spin the 12" of Hard Times/Love Action when I DJ'd, it worked every time, got the punters moving, without fail.
