Mark Nicholas used to front cricket on Sky in the mid-90s, but left when Channel 4 won the terrestrial TV rights from BBC, paving the way for Sky to snap up David Gower from the defunct BBC team.
Hi Rhys, glad you liked the video. Back in 2005 I kind of guessed the Ashes would be a bit special so recorded as much as I could live and taped the highlights package on those days I had to work. I see Tony Shaw has put 'The complete Ashes' onto UTUBE and there are box sets available to buy, so there's not much point me adding to what is already out there. But thanks for your comment and here's to many more Ashes victories.
John Stephenson That's kind of what I'm getting at. Tony's video is a rip of the box set, but the box set is rather lacking in places (for example, England's second innings at Old Trafford is narrated over almost completely). And also, having the ball-by-ball moments are rather special. The commentary is also heavily edited for the box set (such as Ian Bell's LBW at Lord's; Nicholas's references to Adam Hollioake are omitted). I rather envy you in having practically the full series!
