Thanks mate. We didn’t see anywhere to buy any camping gear at the festival itself. And even if there were the prices would be ridiculous so I wouldn’t bet on it personally. Your best bet is probably to go to Decathlon or something similar in Budapest.
It was called Hostel Little Quarter. It’s in a great spot, only a 5 minute walk to the castle and you can get the tram there from the main train station. Enjoy!
Just wanted to say your nc500 travel vlogs have been great. I have watched loads and yours has been the most informative and you’ve shown lots of good sights. I’ve been sick of just seeing roads. Thanks so much for putting it all on RU-vid. You are a lovely young couple. Keep up the good work 😊
Nice festival vlog. When were you there? Last year? I'm thinking about going this year. We'll see. I noticed, all the interesting places you've been, and people just wanna watch your Scotland videos. That's youtube for you
Hi Mark, we were there back in 2022. It’s a great festival and very cheap for what’s included (food and drinks there are extortionate though for Budapest standards). Had we not been backpacking for the previous 2 months we’d have been a lot more prepared for it and probably enjoyed it a lot more.
@@thebeckettlist I've been there before in 2018, but I just had tickets for two separate single days. So I just got the sziget boat there. I've never camped out there.
You’re going to need a sense of adventure to enjoy an island like koh phangan properly. Public transport and taxis won’t cut it. You should have rented a 4x4 I suspect it would have worked out cheaper than all your taxis. That way you get to see so much more of the island. Sadly you missed all the gorgeous bits! Phangan is still a beautiful quiet gorgeous island ruined once a month by 1000s of young drunk idiots doing the very same thing that 1000s more did the month before! Go back and embrace the real feel of the island instead of being disappointed that your expectations weren’t met 😊
We didn’t see any 4x4 rental places in Haad Rin but it sounds like a great idea! We left with a definite sense of unfinished business. I believe there used to be tours of the island that you could book also but these were unfortunately not running when we were there. Thanks for the comment Will!
@@thebeckettlist I would definitely go back it’s a beautiful island. You can rent a 4x4 in Thong Sala near the ferry. Also worth bearing in mind that a lot (most) guesthouse owners will help with this sort of thing. In fact with anything! For haad rin itself I would recommend going to palita lodge at the quiet north end of the beach. If you stay or eat there they will I’m sure help you with what you need. I’ve rented 4x4s via them and never had an issue. Lovely people. Definitely go back!! 😊
Great video! Good to show the different sides of travelling and was interesting seeing Koh Phangan since we didn't get to visit. I would have definitely had to try the four men oysters and your last accommodation in Koh Phangan on the beach seemed great. Look forward to seeing the Koh Samui video as it was one of our favourite places.
Haven't been to Pompeii but been to Herculaneum twice now. A colleague who was an archaeologist recommended Herculaneum instead of Pompeii and it was great advice! It's a great place to explore and see Roman life. Love the Shaun of the Dead reference 😂
We had the exact same advice! Pompeii is apparently a lot bigger and I’m not sure it would be too enjoyable to spend 9 hours out in the Italian summer heat. Perhaps visiting out of season would be more preferable. Thank you! 😂
Hi Fran, our whole van trip was from the 25th of April till the 12th of May. We avoided the midge season but were unfortunately within the tick season so please be wary. This time of year was perfect for us as it wasn’t too cold and wasn’t too busy either 😊
The village is beautiful but very small. We filmed at Loch Leven but didn’t walk around the village itself as such as there only seemed to be a just few houses there.
Went there in 1984 as a 15 year old with my parents. Brings back great memories, of a place where as a Brit their were few. Loved the castle views overlooking Piran. Stayed in Portoroz at the time.❤
Looks like an awesome stop! Definitely jealous. This is the one place I didn't get to and had to cut from my itinerary last summer. Enjoyed seeing it from your perspective!
It was simply stunning. We couldn’t believe just how beautiful it was. Hiring the boat was definitely worth it to get a better perspective of the town.
I was in Naples a few years ago & absolutely loved the place. We took a trip to Pompeii & after spending nearly 8hrs walking round, we still missed off a quarter of it. Herculaneum was a fascinating place too, really strange how the boat arches used to be the sea front. Glad you enjoyed it. 👍
Such a stunning video you guys!! Gorgeous shots and perfect info AND thanks for the mention!!! 😊 really sweet of you. Luc says apologies for my craziness in the background 🤭 he can't seem to take me anywhere 😂
