Hey guys we are now on www.patreon.com/yunatida and we post exclusive videos up there for our patrons, so come by! Many of you have requested kunkunshis and lyrics and those will be an option as well as lessons!!
Two musicians who laugh at each other's screw ups are brought together by their love of music while desperately trying not to punch one another in the face.
Yuna & Tida means Night & Day in Uchinaguchi (the Okinawan language), if you haven’t noticed already, we play and sing traditional Okinawan music with the traditional Okinawan instrument called the Sanshin (literally translating to: three strings). We are based in Los Angeles.
This is the first time that this came up on my suggestions feed. I really enjoyed hearing your performance. Thank you so much! I am just searching the internet for curry rice recipes, and it's so nice to listen to you at the same time.
I play Sanshin pretty well but I’ve forgotten all the names of the repertoire since I originally studied it. Can you give me some info please on the composition? Thanks
I miss Okinawa and my friend here. I come often to listen to your videos. I understood on your patreon that you stoped to post anything. Just thank you for all your hard work. It give me joy in my heart. I hope you are in good health.
while going to Okinawa in 2019 i discovered this song. Then i found your version on youtube. And listen to it till now. This june i go back to Okinawa. I can't wait!
Hai sai Yuna & Tida! Okinawa minyo always make me cry like a baby. I came across this video when looking for drawing inspirations of my birth home. You guys…I was flipping out, crying, and my heart filled with joy. Thank you for sharing your gifts and making me walk down memory lane. Okinawa is a truly magical place.
In the 1980's I lived in a apartment in Koza which had a bar behind it. This is the music I went to sleep by every night. It usually started out pretty good, but started to sound a bit like cats fighting after midnight and the Awamori started to flow. I truly miss Okinawa.
How beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this. I used to live in Japan, but just for two fast years, and never heard this song while I was there. I wish I had.
