Interesting to note you previously worked in HR. I was a little surprised, as unfortunately my three and a half decades of work lead me to conclude that HR was the last place to go to report any workplace abuse. It would either yield no result or escalate the abuse.
@JoBanks
@JoBanks 8 дней назад
@ajjudge7983 thanks for your comment. Yes, I worked in HR, but left it 15 years ago for a number of reasons, one being exactly the reason you state here, plus the fact that I was bullied by an HR Director! It's also important to note that not everyone in HR is a bad person. Most people go into HR to help people and believing they can make a difference. However, if the senior management of the organisation is not behind those ideals, nothing changes. I talk more about my experience in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e4IpfdRhjVI.html

Hi Jo , I know your always looking for video ideas , our workplace has a workplace bullying management culture endorsed by the manager , it is very difficult to get them exposed to the correct agency , but one thing I didn't notice was my female team leader had her girlfriend working on the floor and there was so much nepotism/favoritism going on , that any complaint was never actioned very well because management were all looking after their own backs , but eventually she was moved then left , what I failed to notice and I may have thought it was coming from a higher person ( like cats paw principle) but I actually think a lot of it was because she was in power /position , Alpha female, so the people involved in complaining were treated to what I call "Payback Retaliation" , years and years of nasty, over monitoring . The company policy doesn't mean a thing to these people and management have so much protection so they can keep doing it . .Thanks .

Hi @Cobra427Veight I'm sorry that you've had to go through that. Unfortunately, everything you've said, is common in narcissistic type bahiours. Thank you so much for raising it ❤ Yes, I'm always looking for content ideas and I'll have a video on 'Narcissistic Payback Retaliation' in the next couple of weeks. I'll also be doing a series diving more deeply into the most common narcissistic traits. So, watch out for those!

@JoBanks
@JoBanks Месяц назад
@luisriba8082 - thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, in the UK, it's not quite as easy as suing the company for harassment. We have different laws over here. But I always say to get out sooner rather than later if your company isn't willing to resolve the issue (which, in my experience, is most of the time).
@Save657
@Save657 Месяц назад
Although, the advice is this video is reasonable, often times you cannot approach a boss who is unreasonable. What to do? Approach a state agency or attorney because HR protects the company's interest first and foremost. Working outside the company's reach will get them to pay attention to your situation. 🎯

I completely agree @Save 657 - I always say that you should try and tackle the issue internally, but always advise to get out sooner rather than later if the company isn't willing to resolve things. Unfortunately, in the UK we have extremely strict employment laws so it isn't as easy to just 'sue your employer'.

Thanks Jo. I have felt really upset and confused recently why I have not been enjoying my job - I realise after watching this that I am actually quiet quitting, but have been blaming it on my disabilities and menopause. It's due to issues with my current line manager's lack of interest in actually managing me. He skips our one-to-ones (often booking in other meetings), treats a male colleague differently to me (such as ringing him to discuss stuff we are both working on and then expecting him to tell me) and avoids having any engagement with me at all where he can help it. I had a better line manager previously and we were moved to a different team. My dealbreaker has been having been overlooked in favour of my male colleague, being told I talk too much and that I overtalk/overshadow others (I have ADHD - no offer of support to deal with this has been offered, just criticism), being the last to find out things, having my work criticised in front of others and being made feel I am a nuisance with what is going on with my menopause. I realise I am actually feeling quite depressed and anxious about going to work and have considered speaking with my GP to sign me off so I can work through all this :( xx
@JoBanks

Oh my goodness, @inyourelementtherapies6808 I'm so sorry that you're going through all this - I too have ADHD (only diagnosed at 53) and am going through menopause AND I've had a bullying boss, so I'm very well aware of the challenges you're facing. I would definitely recommend speaking to your doctor to get some professional advice. I can only speak for myself, but HRT has been an absolute life-saver for me. Also, I recommend checking out my other videos, I have ones on ADHD and Managing the Menopause. You may find some useful tips in there. Please take care of you. @emmamcgowan9249 following the fabulous feedback from my tapping videos, I've decided to start a new channel (which will be launching next week - 1 July!) which will be focussed on tapping, self-hypnosis, breath work, etc. The algorithms didn't like that I mixed workplace topics with holistic therapies (it got all confused), so watch out for that. I'll definitely be doing some videos on ADHD. Can you tell me exactly what you struggle with or what you would like to see a tapping video on precisely - there are so many things I could cover. Your help would be very appreciated and as soon as the new channel is live, I'll post it in this thread.

Listen to uplifting/calming music (depending on your mood) or inspiring podcasts when you're in the car and do some deep breathing exercises. If you're on a train or bus, try some mindfulness practices, including breathwork or even journalling. All of these things will help you manage your nervous system and help you feel calmer and more in control. @JoBanks
@JoBanks 2 месяца назад
Hey @MamaKwebbelkop thanks for your message. I would always suggest sticking to the facts and the evidence. That's why I discuss keeping detailed notes of the abuse in pretty much every video I do on this topic. Dates, times, witnesses, physical evidence such as emails, text messages etc are crucial. If they try to gaslight you by bringing in irrelevant things, always bring it back to the evidence and what you are discussing right now. Hope that helps. Of course, as always, this information is generalised and not in any way personalised to any particular instance. You use this advice and anything I discuss in my videos at your own risk.
