Bette's version of this song helped me to discover The Andrew Sisters. Interestingly, Christina Aguilera used the same technique (though more sophisticated than 1973) in her video "Candyman."
I remember calling my mom from a payphone at work to set the VCR to record this episode... the last song she did still chokes me up. What an iconic episode...
Thank you. This song has always brought tears to my eyes, but this intro has just helped me realize that many of my neighbours don't respond to my hellos because they're carrying an egg.
had this vinyl album many years ago, just after release and all i remembered of it were these jokes. awesome. thanks for posting, 1st time ever seeing the video
Wouldn't be funny if the Dead End Kids perform this 1980's classic concert from their favorite movie "They Made Me A Criminal"in 1939 and it would be performed at the Madison Square Garden Theater in beautiful New York City,New York,.That would be a fantastic concert.
Love the Divine Miss M. Glad she was there for Barry and the rest of our community, especially our friends in the drag community. Ugh 9:00 I was held down by a group of girls in the 7th grade because I was/am only 5 even, and only 75lbs. Now I'm much heavier and much chestier, but I was a full B cup then, which looked like I stuffed. Well, they found out the truth!
I used to listen to this song on a tape in the car with my nan, it was the last car she had before she lost her marbles and we lost her. I didn't know what it was about....just it was on a tape that stated "experience the divine". I know what it's about now....I miss you nan. ❤
