I’m Mimi Cortazar, Academic Graphic designer, Comic book artist & Illustrator. You can see here my way of drawing and the process of working, what I love about comics and film.
Stan Lee is remembered for many things, including stealing credit for things he didn't create. We can argue into the night over this, but can we at least agree he is NOT remembered for having anything close to resembling "legendary modesty?"
I would love to see some more of Dan's drawings. Seen a few of them and he was a really good artist. His drawings of alien creatures and monsters were very imaginative.
So many of the cast, crew and artists assembled for A L I E N are sadly no longer with us.... R.I.P. Dan, Yaphet, Ian, Harry, John, Bolaji, HR, Chris, Jerry, Terry.
Also: Helen Horton (voice of Mother) Adrian Biddle (Focus Puller, went on to be DP on Aliens) Eddie Powell (Stunts) Ron Cobb (Concept Artist) Jon Finch (originally cast as Kane) Gordon Carroll (Producer, Brandywine) David Giler (Producer, Brandywine) Carlo Rambaldi (Alien head effects) Terry Rawlings (Editor) Jerry Goldsmith (Composer) Mary Selway (Casting) Michael Seymour (Production Designer) Derek Vanlint (Director of Photography)
Great book! Although the one you show here is the hardcover version, I recommend the softcover (red-colored cover) version "The Art of Simon Bisley Redux" which includes about 30+ more pages of his art that is not included in this hardcover version.
@@MimiCortazar Your video here is what convinced me I needed to track down a copy of this awesome book, and it took me many patient months of waiting on ebay to obtain the softcover. Most of the additional pages in the softcover are compilation pages of smaller drawings, so if you already own the hardcover, I'd say the softcover is only a marginal enhancement. I just love the raw and gritty style of Bisley's art. Among my favorites are Tiger Lady (0:42), Heaven Meets Hell (0:48), Snow Leopard (1:19), Low Plains Drifter (1:52), and Gladiator (3:42). Other favorites only featured in the softcover are Chicken of the Sea, Guardian at the Gates, and Medusa, the latter of which became a 1/4 statue! Do you have any favorites?

Inace, taj fb profil vode dva vrhunska prevaranta i manipulanta.
This is incredible, to watch a master at work. 😍🤌🏼 Thank you for documenting and creating this. Your choice to keep this a quiet video fits in perfectly with the flow state he seems to be in while painting.
From the little bit I can hear under the narrated voice, I think he's saying "tire a la cible", which is basically target shooting (think archery, darts. Those types of games.). I believe it was translated as "the pools" because they understood is as "billards/pool" maybe?
In french, Moebius said « jouer au tiercé ». It's a betting game where you have to bet on the first three horses (hence "Tiercé") that will win the race.
Interesting presentation of Hermann's comic. When I visited Sarajevo the streets still had red indicators of where bombs killed people. This comic is a collector's copy.
I like his medieval battle scenes i bought his dracula and i bought his two boa moris comic one about battle of granada second two days ago about polish hussars
It can be found in CRO bookstores (let's be realistic, who still reads comics). 40€=300kn, at first maybe a lot, but it has a solid weight that contains >500 pages of the mythical anthology! Not to mention the time machine effect... And what Kerac made "must" be in the original (what kind of impression would his other characters leave in another language, Blek, Tara, Kobra etc etc)!
@@mario.-_-. Who grew up with Bane Kerac comics, will buy the book without thinking, which is excellent by the way, so I expect at least Kobra in the near future. Yes, I believe that the translation into other languages would not be as impactful as in the original.
Nice collection, however the Fantagraphics version in English has a better cover. Incidentally, fans of R. Crumb might enjoy my series CANONICALLY CRUMB where I explore the comix and characters of the Crummy-verse.
