Hello my friend ! is it an original HDD or it is flashed ? first : look connection between elements Second try this : "Try restoring after putting the device in DFU mode. Connect the device to the cable and have iTunes running. Press Menu & Select like a normal reset but keep holding for 12 seconds. The device should reset as normal and then the screen should go black. iTunes should detect it and offer to restore" and tell me if that help you

The remote only works with headphones without microphone (2 stripes). There are 2 ways (that I know) to listen to 3 stripes headphones (with microphone) using the remote: 1. Press the play/pause button and keep it pressed. Obviously it's not good for long term (maybe if you find a solution to keep it pressed). 2. Don't push the 3.5mm jack all the way in. There is a small portion when it will make good contact and it will sound ok.

I also have a charging "issue" with my 5.5th Gen 80 GB I modded with iFlash Quad (it now has 1 TB capacity) and larger 3000 mAh battery, when the battery is drained it won't boot up of course but when connected to USB it kinda bootloops because the USB delivers insufficient power (haven't tried to leave it just connected for over an hour, some devices do trickle charging then before they're booting up). The solution is to connect it with the FireWire and USB to Dock Connector cable I have, also got a cheapo noname Power Supply that says 8-12V DC output and my JBL OnStage 200iD. FireWire can deliver up to 30V and it literally jump starts iPods with drained batteries while USB at that time only had 5 Volts (Power Delivery was first specified in 2012 however it needed a few years onwards and introduction of USB-C).

It does not work for my iPod touch iOS 6 to Mac Catalina - :( nothing happened after typing the commands from terminal window, MAc will never show the file content of the ipod touch, it will always shows the "music" interface of the ipod. Why?? Restarting computer did nothing either. Je suis désespéré.

@@ipodforever2023 I am on imac late 2013 intel. Now I managed to retrieve the song through a time machine old backup :) . I even called Apple support who did all they could to help but no success. Likely library might be corrupted but at least I got what I wanted: a specific song I was looking for.

Hi man, do you know a way to restore the 5th gen without iTunes? I upgraded mine with a 128gb ssd and now i`m having problems to restore the system with iTunes (both Mac and Windows). It gives the error message everytime. Tried a lot of things already and nothing seems to work.
