Can I use Big plus tool holder on machine that does not have big plus spindle? Thanks
@BIGDAISHOWAAmericas
@BIGDAISHOWAAmericas 9 месяцев назад
Good question. You can use a BIG-PLUS tool holder on a machine that doesn't have a BIG-PLUS spindle. It will work like any other standard tool holder, but you won't get the added rigidity and benefits that a BIG-PLUS connection offers. Charlie from Andretti Autosport does a good job of demonstrating this here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VU7D-nGULD8.htmlsi=XC9rj2B6DgX5dmqZ

What would be required for this to run off the GCode? So it adjusts between holes.

What option do you have to hold a 1/8/3mm shank tool? I like to use a small chamfer tool 1/8 shank and I dont want a long nose but a slim one is desirable. This tool doesnt seem to have sleeves smaller than 6mm? Charles
@BIGDAISHOWAAmericas
@BIGDAISHOWAAmericas 2 года назад
Hi, Charles. We don't offer collets for the Super Slim series and don't recommend 3mm or 1/8" hydraulic chucks or shrink fit use due to cutting tool shank tolerance issues with interference fit type holders. We'd recommend our MEGA Micro program slim nose collet chuck as an alternate: us.bigdaishowa.com/en/products/tool-holders/collet-chucks/mega-micro-chucks. Feel free to reach out to us and our product specialists are more than happy to help! Contact us: us.bigdaishowa.com/en/contact-us

There’s not one video on how to dial back in a boring bar or make diameter increases, decreases, accounting for backlash after flipping an insert, like zero. Everyone expects you to just know how to do the shit. Ridiculous

When backing up, you didn't account for backlash??
@gar50172
@gar50172 2 года назад
I’m not sure if you always have to account for backlash unless it is an already used insert. I believe, and I’m just a rookie so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I believe you can move in small amounts once an insert has been put on and the backlash has already been accounted for. I think you can decrease the diameter without the backlash if on the same insert wear you began with. Another note, I think a lot of people have trouble with backlash I am one of those so when people make videos like this it is important to show that because it’s so crucial and it’s a pain in the ass if you overshoot with the backlash.
@rickdouglas9322
@rickdouglas9322 Год назад
This style of boring head in proper working order does not require backlash compensation. You are able to adjust size + or - to within .0001 as long as the boring head has not been damaged by not loosening the adjustment screw before adjustment.
@IaMxNitro
@IaMxNitro 2 месяца назад
Yes you should account for back lash by bringing it all the way back off then readjusting. You want to always be making your adjustments to make the hole BIGGER. So it should ALWAYS be clockwise. If you have to go counter clockwise you should be taking the backlash out. All the kieser heads I’ve used you MUST take out the backlash.

Interesting, so when used in a group on a plate you would only use one of each? Charles
@BIGDAISHOWAAmericas
@BIGDAISHOWAAmericas 2 года назад
Hi Charles. Thanks for asking. Usually one SBA knob and one SBB knob is used with a two chuck fixture, but the total number of knobs will vary. One SBA knob, one SBB knob, and two SBC knobs are used on a four chuck fixture, and so on. As the number of chucks increases, the number of SBC knobs usually increases also. In a future video we will discuss the different scenarios that can be used.
