That's a grown timber rattler. A big one is 5 ft. Very bad bite ! I killed one a few weeks ago about 4 ft long on my 4wheeler crossing a trail by my tree stand. Very bad bite... they also call them velvet tails.
Yeah the Timber rattlers and Copperheads we definitely have to watch out for. Years ago at my old home place we had one of our dogs who was walking through the woods with us get bit multiple times on his head by a Copperhead in a thicket. We had to take him to the vet as he couldn’t walk after being bit. He recovered after the vet treated him though. My dad still finds Copperheads occasionally around his house & dog kennels and has to kill them. Thanks for watching!
Man, the RU-vid algorithms suck. Now I have to manually go to your channel to see your videos. As always, thank you for sharing. My girlfriend and I are headed up there at the end of the month.
Yeah, we’ve been noticing a decrease in views and likes the past several months. We aren’t cool and cliche enough to be promoted by RU-vid’s algorithm. We appreciate you making the extra effort to go to our channel manually to view the videos and showing support. Hope y’all have a nice trip!
I have Kodiak 700 base model nothing special ,, these little Kodiak 700 really surprise me how tuff they are , I truly love the video love ,,love this kinda riding that you are doing ,, I like small hill climbs with mine , thank you for the wonder video nothing but love here ,, I like the color of your Kodiak mine is green lol
We think both the Yamaha and the Hondas are good machines, it really depends on the type of riding you do which is better suited. I talk a lot about some of the differences in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HatCTpqz9xY.htmlsi=nNTuK4c94xnovNhj. Thanks for watching!
@@Palomino488 Thank you for the response. I am listening to the suggested video in my truck. I suppose you don’t think Polaris compares to the Yamaha or Honda? That’s okay if you do. Just curious:
I personally would stick with Yamaha or Honda. I’ve known some people who have had numerous issues with their Polaris atvs early on in the ownership. Honestly I try to to keep an open mind about all brands but if I had to get only one atv I’d invest my money in something other than Polaris.
Really great video bud! You touched on so many of the really important features of the Kodiak especially in contrast to Honda. I have a 2021 Kodiak 700 base model that definitely lacks some features and the price reflects it but… The engine, and CVT transmission of the Yamaha make all the difference in the world especially at a base Kodiak 700 price point. As far as power steering goes in my experience, Yamaha has the absolute best. As far as automatic, transmission’s go longevity, how it shifts and general reliability, how they run Yamaha has the best for the 4 x 4 market in this class. I have a 2022 Yamaha raptor, 700 R for going fast and a 2021 Kodiak 700 that by the way has the same engine as a raptor for everything else!
Have Y'all heard Anymore news about when there gonna open brave heart again and the new " big coal river system". Thx. Hopefully I'm headed back that way to finish buffalo mountain in a couple of weeks.
All I have heard is that they hope they’ll open in the “2024 season”. Braveheart is waiting on some bridge to be built I guess. We’re heading back soon also and were hoping they’d be open in time for our trip, but not sure it’s going to happen. How do you like Buffalo Mountain? We haven’t ridden that one yet.
Great honest review/talk on Yamaha vs Honda, both are very well built machines, but I agree with you if you want an automatic there is really no comparison in real world functionality to Yamaha’s ultramatic transmission,as you mentioned you are always in the right gear with great engine braking. You should use low gear when pulling loads and steep hills,I have had a 2007 grizzly 450 and now a 2014 550/power steering with absolutely no buyers remorse
I have one coming from a old 350 fourtax and then a 500 foreman but the Kodiak 700 is alot more bike and i agree with you on the smooth handy auto h/l and the power steering very easy bike to ride very comfortable and plenty enough power
They have been great. They really don’t dig my yard up, they just hook and go. The original turf tires spinning did more damage to the grass than these have in my experience. Tires hardly show any signs of wear either.
Thanks for the video, glad you did detailed view of the parts mod. When its time to replace my 2019 kodiak filter im gonna do this same mod, then my old factory filter is going to get washed and put on a shop vac as a dust collector. Apparently foam does really well collecting dusts.
Yes, it would be an excellent system for sport quads. Lots of sections of certain trails allow for good speed in the straights and are relatively smooth. We see some sport quads when we are on Warrior out there riding. All in all I’d say it probably be one of the best systems to ride a sport quad on out of the systems we’ve been to so far.
I was going to do that years ago on my 2001 JD 790.... until I found out that JD wanted like $50 for the two little foam thingies and I passed on it. How much did you pay for those springs from Ebay? If not too much, I will look into these rubber ones on Ebay. Thanks!
No it doesn’t have a battery. The light is powered by the current the engine produces for the spark plug and the light is always on when engine is running.
Yea, just got back from Hatfield McCoy a few hrs, ago. Been twice in a month and a half, Very Hard not to keep going back. I was otw to ride warrior from Pinnacle Creek, was raining and of course no rain gear, I was soaked and wet, and cold, I did a 3 point turn and headed back to the campground,The mountain won this time, but I shall return. Warrior is the only one I've not ridden out of the 4 in The southern most part. Yea, I need to clean my spark arrester too.
Yeah, you’re right it’s addictive riding at HMT. You did the right thing turning around in that situation. Warrior is like our (hometown track) figuratively speaking, we like trying out the other trail systems to mix things up but we always come back to Warrior as we like the trails a lot there. Hopefully you can get back up there soon and ride Warrior. Thanks for sharing your story and for watching!
@@Palomino488 your welcome, yea, any trail or system you missed you can always go back to, hopefully we'll have many years left to keep riding. Take care and have fun
Lol, That poor Truck has seen better days. Someone is gonna have one heck of a tow recovery bill to pay😮. Y'all have plans to ride devil anse and buffalo mountain this Year?
Haha yeah I can’t even imagine! Not sure if we will make it to those this year or not, with what’s open now those are two of the four we haven’t made it to yet.
Not really. At high speeds if you have the back glass open you can hear some slight movement from wind but the cover itself doesn’t budge. We have had it installed for 3 years now and still love it.
