she just likes to hear herself talk...per her, being Supervisor was her highest honor. Well how could it not be? She just sat there, did nothing but talk and got paid a whopping lot of money to accomplish...virtually nothing.
What all of Concord City Council is saying in their non-binding "pledge" that Obringer came up with is that they will not accept campaign "contributions," meaning direct donations. The elephant in the room they are all ignoring is "Independent Expenditures" (IEs) which - thanks to Citizens United - allow businesses, companies, and PACs to funnel money into a campaign without it being a "contribution". I personally asked McGallian if he is willing to refuse any IEs from the Seeno group and he said "the problem there is you don't know that the money has come in until after it's happened, sometimes after the campaign." That's mostly true. I reminded him he could still repudiate such IEs and his campaign could even return this money, and he pivoted to accusing Save Mt. Diablo of illegally using IEs and asked "why is it okay for them, but not for us?" The suspected "bribes" are not by way of campaign contributions. None of them are stupid enough to do that. IEs however... Carlyn Obringer for example benefitted to the tune of nearly $100k in IEs from two entities in 2016. Those groups were Candy Properties LLC (the Garaventas) and the CPOA (the cops' union).

I know Concord well. I DOUBT this was a random attack. They probably have history. There are a lot of tweakers in Concord, but even THEY don't do shit like this.
