Hi. Thank you! Yes, these are electronic drums. The drums are from Drumtec, and the cymbals are from Roland. I'm not too familiar with Alesis since I'm a Roland fan, but I think Alesis should be a good choice as long as the pads aren’t too small. If you have a larger budget, I can only recommend Roland's premium line. It doesn’t get any better than that. Best regards
