This album has been close to my heart since 2009 - this is hands down the best cover/tribute I've ever seen. The attention to detail & passion you guys put into this was inspiring. I got goosebumps during the Sylvia chorus.
This was absolutely amazing. I had chills the whole way through the performance. All of you absolutely killed it! I hope the audience realises how lucky they were to see such an influential album performed in its entirety to such a high standard. Thank you for posting this.
I somehow stumbled across this gem a few months ago and absolutely fell in love. I adore this album and it has great meaning to me, however due to some things I have associated with it I don't listen to it all very often. I have found myself coming here instead when I need to listen to the album as a whole, as this cover of it is breathtaking. The instrumentation, sound samples and production is all so incredibly thought out and professional it's astounding that this was created only as a school project. Every performer involved in this is so unbelievably talented but as a musician myself I have to especially compliment every musician involved in this. The sheer passion and depth of the emotion portrayed in all of your performances is what really makes this performance stand out I think. Thank you so much for creating and uploading this.
Thank you so much for the kind words Jenni! <3 You don't understand how much that means to me. To all of us. I actually teared up a little reading your comment. I understand not being able to listen to this album because of association (I have that issue myself big time) but the fact that you come to our video is so humbling and beautiful. I am so grateful! Just saw your cover of Graceland Too by Phoebe Bridgers... My god! You are really talented! What a beautiful voice you have! I love Phoebe Bridgers soo much and Punisher really got me through a really rough fucking summer! Hearing some of your original songs made me wanna to work with you haha <3 I don't have a lot credentials but I am currently studying music production and sound engineering at a college in Sweden and have access to a studio where me and my best friend Moa (who sang Kettering, Two and Epilogue) are working on our upcoming album. We're called No Visuals and if you'd like to hear us we have an EP and a new single out of Spotify. It would mean a lot to us<3 I also have a Soundcloud under my own name where I've put out different weird songs:) Anyways if you ever feel like sending me a demo or an arrangement for one or some of your songs then I know some talented musicians here that would make a great backing band. Or if you just wanna send something acoustic for me to mix. Would be really fun... Only if you want to of course! Wishing you all the best <3
Thank you so much for your reply, currently binge listening to everything on your soundcloud, you're seriously so so talented oh my god!! Checked out No Visuals too, really like you guys' sound and production. It would be such an honour to collab on something sometime! If you'd still be open to it, shoot me an email @/jenniferlyons070101@gmail.com or maybe message me on insta @/howtodrawpetrichor :)
Thank you so much for the beautiful beautiful words Todd! If you are interested then me and Moa have a duo called No Visuals and we are on Spotify if you wanna hear what we are up to!:)<3 I also have a personal Soundcloud where I put up different original things that I think are fun! Thanks again <3
Sorry for such a delayed answer but I meant to respond sooner, I just forgot ... But thank you so so so so much!!! That makes me really happy to here <3
Wow, thank you so much for the kind words <3 It's crazy how much this album has resonated with people who have lived something similar to it, but then again it's no so strange since it's so well-written and incredibly emotional. Hope you are doing well:)
Background info for anyone who's interested. In a situation where everything about capture this performance on multitrack goes wrong and your stuck with one shotgun mike on the camera, I think this conforms a old saying, good shit in = good shit out :)
Listened to the full performance. I was impressed and am grateful that you all put this together. What shocks me is that this is a high school project. You would never see something this great at a high school in the US. Bravo!
This performance is great, but there's really no need to put down the US to compliment it. There are very talented teens at magnet schools, for example, that could put on an equally amazing performance.
