I'm glad you enjoyed it. A follow-up video going over the rest of the Skull Island arcs is in the works and should appear in the next few weeks. (it's a LOT of footage to go through)
Pirate 101 was a game i found out existed after finding wizard101, and I loved every minute of the "free chapter" as a kid, going out of my way to slaughter so many of those poor frogs. Out of both games, after getting a dual membership, it was the one I played the most of, as the games overall charm and world captivated me way more than wiz ever could. I agree wholeheartedly with you and everyone in the community that there's too little free-play for both games, and absolutely think the prologue should COMPLETELY be free. With how much content the game has, along with the fact pirate 101 is, basically, abandoned by the KI team, they genuinely would not lose money if they just made the prologue and then the entirety of wizard city (for wiz101) free. 🥲sadly, we will probably never see that
I've heard that the free content section used to go further but at some point they decided to shorten it. Seems like an odd move since as of now it feels like the only thing free is the basic tutorial but it isn't really enough of game to know whether or not you'd want to sub.
@@scurvybanana I've actually never heard that for p101! If that was ever true, I'm actually really curious how far it was. I feel like, at the least, they could make that first part for ratbeard free, where you help all of the poor souls he lied to (if i remember correctly, you can only help one of them. Which honestly as a kid I think upset me because again, I had been so invested in this story and world up to this point) I do always hope that one day more of each game will be free, even with the fact more content and parts of the story are still being added
@@scurvybanana Yes, the Panama DLC features quite a bit of piracy (you're not a pirate, you just interact with them). There's not much in the main game until you get to the port town. I loved both games - janky as heck, but one guy basically making his own immersive sim! Thanks for this review btw. The 360 store closes tomorrow so last chance to get the DLC. I bought it anyway despite the negative feelings, but I at least feel forewarned now - so this was appreciated.
The Two Worlds games seem heavily inspired by the RPGs made by Piranha Bytes and while they are still clunky I'd say they are typically better games - the series Gothic, Risen and Elex. I'd say The Witcher series also sits in a similar grouping. Maybe Fable? If you want it specifically to be about pirates it'll be a bit harder, as you'll be stuck with the Risen games and maybe Assassins Creed Black Flag. If you're deadset on giving the Two Worlds games a try I will say they go on sale for pretty cheap fairly often and while its an unpopular opinion I actually had more fun playing the first game than the second.
I found the vid and remembered I already had it in my wishlist so I went and bought it instead of watching the video because I didn't want to be spoiled (-w-) I came back to the video 18 hours of gameplay later and you've done a great job on keeping it spoiler free :o
Technically, gorillas diet is strictly fat+protein, about 70/30. They get fat as byproduct of gut biome"work", and protein is from dead bacteria (yes, they have lifecycle too). So yeah, gut biome is vegetarian, gorillas are not. Ditto cows and other ruminants
By way of feedback from someone who started watching your channel about 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed what i've seen so far. I'm primarily lurking here cause of i share the obsession with pirate games. For me that manifests as pen and paper pirate RPGs (i ran a pirate pathfinder campaign that lasted years themed off an expanded Skull and Shackles), boardgames and table top wargames (currently friends are in early stages of a home brew table top rpgish pirate wargame) more than video games. I do like crpgs but i'm the sort of player who sinks 700+ hours into a game that I really vibe with, but most games including AAA games i last 40 minutes then do not care to continue. So therefore ended up here from a review perspective after flogging bg3 to death and wondering what pirate games other than sea of thieves are out there. Sea of thieves got about 80hours and was great. I do enjoy your passion for a wider style of games than wouldn't be my normal go to. Watching the Horizon Gate video I was like this is great, especially from an rpgs fluff perspective could easily see a pen and paper take on that story, but would not normally have considered that game. I love the calm but genuinely into the genre commentary style, its why i can keep listening. If you go to wider content keep that tone but only do it if your going to be genuinely into it, but don't dilute it (the spam concern is valid). I'd certainly watch content about other pirate related stuff, board games, table top games, sea shanties, maybe media but again your right copy write caution. If you do go wider then probably good to separate your videos out by theme. (i do encourage you to type Cannibal Jack by the Wellington Sea Shanty Society in your search bar) its a banger. best of luck (spoiler whilst typing this i did discovered the monkey easter egg lol)
Thank you for the feedback, it is very insightful. I'm especially glad the breadth of gametype coverage is appreciated. (will definitely be looking up that song after I finish posting this)
They retained a gripper-digit on their feet for hanging on to branches but lack one in their hands due to their primary form of locomotion - that being forming their four fingers into a hook shape and swinging between branches. The short of it is that this sort of evolution happened because their thumbs kept getting in the way of this movement technique.
No problem. I know the full release is nearing and figured using it as the B-roll footage was a good way to sneak it in despite it not having its own launch trailer in any of the big summer game events.
Interesting, I've never heard of this problem before. Potential fix? Your user profile on your PC might not have the correct administrative privileges. Try running notepad as an administrator. Alternatively, try using a different word processing program (like Microsoft Word or OpenOffice)
Truly an impressive collection of upcoming games! Thank you very much for doing the research to bring all of these together for us all to ponder! Are you aware of this channel? youtube.com/@thecultivatedpirate?si=CILqCo7ReUq2uHO- I feel like you might like to talk with that guy. He seems to have very similarly wide interests in anything piratey gamey as well.
Not particularly as I am not invested in watching streamers. From my limited knowledge I am aware he is a Sea of Thieves streamer that struggles with bans - I'm not interested in covering controversy (or stream personalities) and try to take games for what they are rather than who they are associated with.
@@scurvybanana yeah i see your point. Basically theb is banned a lot and when it got to the point where he literally couldn't play for even a hour on a new account he made this game as a joke with a friend
Don't think I didn't catch the two times you used the music from Sea Dogs (2000) to underscore your highlights! ;) Also, might I venture... What's better than being on the beach, looking out at the boats on the ocean? Being on those boats, looking out at the beach! 😎
I just like the part where I installed the game and it wanted me to agree to a few privacy clause, I read a bit of one to see what was going on, I immediately uninstalled the game when I read they will take your private information, picture, friends list, their pictures, passwords account names, emails and will sell all of it to 3rd parties for cash.
There are some other games inspired by UW:NH on the market you could take a peek at. I haven't played them all so I can't say which ones are more/less like Uncharted Waters or which are better/worse games but off the top of my head; Sailing Era Sagres Horizon's Gate Uncharted Ocean
wHAAAT sERIAL KEYS? I havent seen any of these since i played on my old AMIGA 500 and thats in the 80s-90s so why in the whole unholy hell even put into a game`` I actually wanted to get it.. But a cracked version is my way now(actually dont care at all+serial keys are they insanely demented??) Its the 2000s and game is not from the 80s WHYYYYYY
