Welcome to Paul Compton CPAGB - Adventure & Landscape Photography & Vanlife!
I'm Paul, a certified photographer with a passion for capturing breathtaking landscapes and epic adventures. My love for vanlife fuels this passion, letting me sleep under stunning skies and chase the perfect sunrise shot.
Join me as I hike mountains, explore lakes, wander through woodlands, and stroll along beaches. I'm always filming to share the beauty with you, hoping to inspire you to get outdoors and capture your own magical moments.
With a full-time job, weekends are my prime adventure time, and my trusty Ford campervan is my mobile base for exploring every corner of the UK. This channel is a record of my photographic journey and vanlife escapades, so buckle up and come along for the ride!
I also organize photography workshops to share my passions with others. Check out www.paulcomptonpdphotography.co.uk for more details. Let's explore, capture, and create unforgettable memories together!
I'll be up there next week Paul so will see if any of the millstones are visible in all the bracken. I suspect most of them will not be visible but hope I can get one or two decent shots.
I'm a local fell runner, the stone circle is known as the Druids Circle locally, so if you say that everyone knows where you mean, it's used as a marker in two local fell races which use a straight line connecting the summit of Tal-y-Fan with the Druids Circle so I must have ran that route a 100 times or more, you mention the stone axes and the site where they got them from is still there and known as the Graig Lwyd Neolithic Axe Factory, but I think it's technically on private land owned by the quarry, so [cough] visit at your own risk! There's stuff everywhere around there a bit like Dartmoor as in the stone age the climate was a fraction warmer so lots of people lived up there on the moorland, Tal-y-Fan quarry is amazing, there are old peat drying huts, more stones circles, standing stones and I read somewhere that a Roman stone signpost in the British Museum came from a field not far away in Llanfairfechan, do you ever use Coflein? It's the official Welsh database of all archaeology, buildings, industrial and maritime heritage in Wales, there's a map on there with everything marked on it with any photos and all the information known of any sites, it's extremely useful and when you look at the map for the area all around the Druids Circle there's loads of stuff to go and explore. Lovely photos too, I also dabble a bit and also use a Fujifilm camera.
Interesting video Paul. Those umbrellas definitely warrant a photograph. Great graffiti on the walls. Great image's as usual mate. Look forward to the next one.
That was a great video Paul. The photos were good. I see you were doing a Harry Worth by the window. The coloured houses looked good too. Look forward to the next video.
Both of you were definitely giving it some welly down the track. The bikes seem to go quite well. Nice product image's and i think Eskute will like them for their website. Catch you on the next one mate.
Mate life is to short to put all your eggs in one place, i have made hundreds of videos and now i want to have more fun and still take a photo.. sorry your not happy..
Great video,I have a camera on the back of my car,Could you fit the one your reviewing on the front of your car,As my car is quite large and it’s a pain to get within the white lines at supermarkets etc,Thanks.
I'm sorry, but I am having a hard time watching your videos since the addition of a new lady friend. Not my business, but you made your wife a part of your channel. Clearly, something has happened, but a simply explanation (without too many details) could have made it less uncomfortable. You just plopped "Miss Martha" into videos without an explanation. Some of us would like to understand. We would support you. Again, you made your wife a part of your channel. If that is over, just say it.
Hi I can understand how odd this may look and I have had other comment about where Mrs C is these days. Maybe if you would like to know more you could email me direct on my website. paulcomptonpdphotography.co.uk/contact This is not the place for public announcements, my channel has and is changing as I have.
Please help if you can, i will be riding a non electric bike, will be all my own power on a hire bike. www.justgiving.com/page/paul-compton-200milebikeride
Stumbled upon the video and enjoyed it. The cows will be my cousins who own the farm/caravan park you drove through to get to the reserve. The seal colony is quite a new thing, you'd see the odd one fifty years plus ago when I was first taken down there for family stuff. What you don't get down there any more are the tens of thousands of gulls making a hat and jacket essential and you still get dive bombed and covered in sh*t Fun Fact, Peggy was very good friends with my nana lol The gutters on the salt marsh can be quite tricky to walk around. Do NOT walk out to Piel Island (the castle) unless you know the route. Your walking out into Morcambe Bay with all its quick sand, fast tides and encircling gullies, not a place to just go for a stroll👍
Amazing Paul. We know both of you can do it. Obviously Paul. It's only you to do it. We know you can do it. We will definitely see you after its all done.
I really liked the IR but I actually thought the final night time long exposure was the pick of the bunch. There was obviously a load of effort at just getting the exposure right.
@@paulcomptonpdphotography Yeah, I'm not for or against, I'm quite 'agnostic' on it, although you know my liking for b&w in general. John McKenna used IR for street photography during the Edinburgh Festival last year with some good results. Man made materials in clothing really zings in strong sunlight.
You need 2 test shots at same F stop, best exposure (time) for stars, and using same shutter speed best shot of light house. Start exposure final shot, and after correct time for light house block the lighthouse out of shot till best exposure for stars. Err! unless you are very lucky and dependent on time of year on average sunrise is 180 deg. the other side of sunset. I did not notice the boat or island and its a bit far from Ireland.
Yeh I agree the astro in one shot is probably impossible. I also had my old Lumix GX7 converted to 720Nm by Protech. Just love the images taken in good sunlight. How's the bike training going?
@@paulcomptonpdphotography Ah I thought it could be that one. I'm in the USA and shipping of the book here is almost as much as the book! LOL Wish she had an ebook version!
