For anyone watching, you aren’t gonna be able to build that harness in smoke, pre build the harness into your bunker pants in between the 2 layers.

Slow is fast as they train us but geez, pick it up. This is a training exercise so put the pedal down: speed up, show some energy, flush that hydrant, wear the proper gloves and get the wet stuff on the hot stuff.

Only thing I suggest is to have the hydrant wrench with the supply hose adapter....one less step....I’ve honestly never seen a hydrant wrench mounted in the jump seat area

We use a bucket with everything we need for a hydrant. It works for my area

Is the friction from the rope on the carabiner all that is slowing your decent?

I didn't see the hydrant being checked for obstructions or flow before attaching four way. Potential huge time loss there.

What about flushing hydrant before connecting the assist valve and hose lay?

Y’all are ridiculous talking about “speed up” it’s a training video for god sakes, they clearly going over every step slowly so that the new fire recruits can absorb the information clearly

I’m with you there, IDK if this was slow paced for the video or not. I would say if it was then they would do themselves a service to announce that and show a full speed demo. I’m not a firefighter so I don’t know good from bad but I sure do enjoy watching this style videos and the pace was far below other departments.

Just curious- why pull 150' of 2.5 if it's only going into the FDC?
@stephen9958
@stephen9958 3 года назад
Yeah good question and why are u slow at settings up
@evanwoody0587
@evanwoody0587 5 месяцев назад
Reason for the 150' of 2.5 is due to the fact that at times, Hydrants might be longer away and there may be a need to connect the line before fully pulling the rig to the hydrant. It also can very on department trainings and why, I've known that it's a good rule to pull more than you think you will need for kinks and extra if it comes down to it.
