This cast is fantastic! Pipes like WHOA on Pennywise! But... What's going on with the face paint? Is Urinetown being performed in repertory with The Lion King? Pennywise on Friday, Rafiki on Saturday? I'm so distracted!
It was common in Victorian England to give children opium, so that they wouldn't walk in on their parents, while performing their marital duties, or otherwise bother them. In order to justify this, it was called medicine, and not what it was. So disturbing.
BRILLIANT!! I should've known that chain-link fence would become an integral set-piece to one of the finest climatic ensemble harmonies ever written, IMO. That part was so fierce and intense, yet everyone handled their roles just right. Hope's bubbly charming demeanor is reflected in her vocal range quite well! I'm getting serious Judge Turpin vibes from Mr. Cladwell, such a sinister presence. Just awesome performers all around. Bobby's delivery is so powerful and vast! I love seeing fresh comic ingenuity come through some of this show's more prominent tongue-in-cheek gags. Dig the nods to Les Mis and Hair, among others... that was a solid performance, quite enjoyable! Thanks for sharing this video. :3
