Steppes Travel (or Steppes East as it was then) was founded in 1989 with the objective of creating a travel company where service and knowledge are of the highest priority. We aim to design itineraries, which, while including the highlights of any country, additionally take travellers off the beaten track to see lesser known, but equally interesting places not frequented by large numbers of tourists.
We offer individuals the ability to travel safely in remote areas in the knowledge that one of us had been there before. Furthermore we run a 24-hour emergency service, which ensures that at any time, a member of staff is on call to help resolve a local difficulty. It is our belief that these little details make the difference between a good travel company and an exceptional travel company.
I did a 2 week wildlife photography cruise around Svalbard in 2013 and we almost never saw another ship the whole time and never saw people on the sites we explored on foot every day. It was a sublime trip (on the Russian research vessel, the Sergey Vavilov). Glad I did that trip when I did.
Every 50km u find new language, new food, culture, weather, cloths, trees, people, temple style are diiferent but from Himalaya to hindhu ocean we all one. All our ancient temple's placed all over india in such a way that all should know that we are one ❤
Learning incredible ancient places in India from YT videos, otherwise would never know, except for touristy places. Barabar caves, magnificently finished, like glass, how did they do it without modern tools, so precise, just learned about them in YT.
The architecture and craftsmanship involved is just spectacular. We have a group tour available, led by William Dalrymple, where guests will be visiting the Ellora and Ajanta caves, another fascinating site.
@@steppestravel I have seen. Ellora should be on the world's wonder list, no doubt. How did they excavate the huge solid rock mountain top down with hammers and chisels at that time, impossible to remove thousands on tons of solid mountain. Read that Islamic mughal emperor Aurangzeb hired 3,000 people for several years to obliterate it, they couldn't, but they defaced lot of sculpture, damage is visible. Nearby Ajanta and Ellora, there is a duplicate Tajmahal, its not made of marble or there any precious inlaid stones. Only if there is spare time, may want to visit, just for kicks.
The advisory of your FCO, with respect to India is always 80% political. Do come and bring people with you to Kashmir. From your commentary, it appeared that you have never visited the north-east. If so, then you have missed out on a lot.
True. With India everything is political. E.g.: India was also just ranked lower than Malawi in the hunger index - even though India is food secure, and literally donates food to Malawi lol. Gotta take these Indices/opinions with a grain of salt.
India is really great in most non major cities apart from Hyderabad, bengaluru and pune . Visit andaman and various hill stations in eastern and western ghats
There are like 2 dozen other great regions and touristy areas in India other than golden triangle. Visit Hyderabad, vizag, mysore, kochi, eastern ghats and western ghats hill stations etc
We completely agree! Kate and Charlotte could have talked for hours on all the incredible places to visit, this video barely scratches the surface. We will definitely be creating more videos like this.
He is absolutely right. Most tourists desire to protect wildlife and their environment, both the flip side is that too many tourists can destroy habitat which in turn effects the wildlife. But like one of the comments says, what to do if the polar bear comes closer. I guess you smile while politely informing said bear it’s violating the new tourist laws…l😂
When "encountering" an apex predator that can weigh up to 800 kg and whose top speed can reach 40 km/h... Yeah, 500 meters is a really tres bien amount of space.
I couldn't agree with you more. People always say that too many tourists have a negative effect on wildlife populations. That's complete pseudoscience. It's been proven over and over that wildlife doesn't care about you. They're busy and trying to survive in their own way. How arrogant to think that they care about you so much. Polar bears are curious animals. Leave them alone and let them be curious.
Great question - If you happen across a polar bear within this distance or if it comes closer to you or the boat (swimming or walking on ice or land), then you will have to move away.
@@steppestravel Thanks, appreciate the response! I understand there is such a delicate balance...this seems to be extreme and would certainly affect the tourist experience.
Majesty at its finest. I have always wanted to go to Mongolia. I enjoy learning their culture. Hello to everyone in Mongolia from Ohio in America up on Lake Erie.
