Anyway, it is no longer a question of which of these two sectors is more polluting, combustion cars and animal farming have their days counted (they will be reduced to 0 by 2030). According to Agenda 2030 plus the infamous leader's decisions at WEF (Davos), animal farming will be drastically reduced in western countries (meat will be consumed by the world elite but no one else) while cars will be electrical (with a kill switch managed by the One World Government)...
How much of that arable land is used to feed animals? What about the fact that we are destroying the rain forest for cattle feed and grazing? There is a surplus of manure right now in the US that is polluting our rivers and more. But even if manure was scarce, we don't need to use chemical fertilizers to fertilize the land.
This non arable land might serve us better if it was allowed to be wild and not filled with animals which use much of the crop from our arable land. Without livestock we could repurpose much of the arable land and would have left over that we could re-wild. This seems akin to when the ‘experts’- working in the industry- defended oil until now when it is quickly becoming too late.

The contribution of global livestock production to man made climate change is 15 %. This is a big part. Besides, Amazon deforestation is 100% caused by production of US cow food.

That’s assuming the cow population is constant. We already know the Amazon forest is being burned at an alarming rate for cattle farming. The Amazon forest holds vast amounts of carbon that is being burned for feed and livestock. Also he doesn’t mention how much more resources it takes to raise a large animal like a cow. How much water and feed does it take to raise a cow from birth to slaughter? ? There are families starving yet I bet the amount of food a cow needs in its lifetime could feed a few families several times over. We are experiencing record droughts year over year but the water will go to cows instead. Cars aren’t good either… but I think his argument that cows aren’t hurting the environment is missing a few points.
He of course omits how much more powerful the warming effect of methane is compared to CO2 in the time it is up. He omits that methane is currently responsible for over 15% of the current warming. And of course, he leaves out that the number of cattle in the world has been and is increasing.
The whole idea that cows are bad is ridiculous. There were millions upon millions of bison roaming North America prior to the 1700s. The grazing ruminate animal is natural. They cover the globe and have been with us since before civilization. They are part of the cycle of carbon. Grass is good. Cows grown on grass are good. If you want to look at real culprits look at the completely unnatural process of rice, corn and wheat. Chemical fertilizers, sprays, GMO, tillage, loss of top soil, silt washing down our rivers are all bad.
