Just a two cent for magic arm. Don't use it on cars/bikes/skateboard without safety rope. Don't use those tiny litle clamps, they are sketchy AF. Buy Mafer clamp (Big superclamp) and put it on a small arm. Maybe even matthelini clamp for a larger objects and more safety. Spotlight are cool but sometimes cardboard with holes works as good as gobo masks
Hey MABO, when you attach the clamp/arm to your camera, whats the camera you record that with? Phone? And for example the bottle with ''I wish you were here'', I doubt it has a DSLR on a clamp attached to the bottle it would be to heavy. Which camera is used there?
I believe the arm with the clamp is attached on the top of the bottle and he is shooting inverted, so he is able to hold the camera attached to the arm/clamp and make some movements onto the bottle once he "drop" it on the water.
I am shooting camera to camera, if the weight is to heavy you can still support it by slightly supporting it and with holding and with the other arm perform the movement.
I don't have a magic arm yet but for what a can see, sometimes you need at least 2 magic arms to get more clear shot from the product right? Great vid btw
Surprise visitor from the past in the spotlight segment! Anything video: endless widgets needed - clamps, arms, stands, pins, bounces, diffusions, different stands, different clamps, products with necessary items sold separately, etc, etc, etc.
Yep. Ive been shooting portraits, both photo and video, professionally for 20 years. I START at 50mm and will go out to 135mm. I prefer 85mm but 50 is great too. Some of my favorite videos were shot around 120mm. You can still get plenty of the background with a 50mm though, take a few steps back from your subject and shoot at f/4 or so instead of stopping down so much.
This is sooo good! Your art is getting better and better! Enjoyed every second. Did you film it all by yourself? I especially wonder how the shot at 1:45 was made.….
i have a whole set now, 24, 35, 50 ,55, 85, 100 all s.s.c. and the 35-105 fd and use them on everything, komodo, canon, sony, blackmagic. i love them so much and wish some didnt tripple in price.
Thanks for the motivation MABO. Awesome looking shots and I especially like 0:42 with the lens 😍 Just as a tipp for anyone: Don’t forget to correctly set the focal length manually within the stabilization settings on the sony, so it doesn’t warp around when you use manual/vintage lenses. Menu, 2 Red menu (cam icon), 9 Image Stabilization, 3 Focal Length. I put that option onto the Fn button/menu for quick access when switching lenses!
Love your work. How does this blur happen? What tool makes it? 02:48 (look at the leaves of the distant trees and bushes in the corners) How can this blur be achieved?
